    looking for a custom machinist

I'm in the process of attempting to make a custom air-though piece for my e-tac. I was trying to see if anyone on AO was willing to help me build this piece. The piece is fairly simple to build but requires someone with a milling machine which I no longer have. the drawings I've linked to are huge so I didn't post them on here. The whole assembly is based upon the e-mag battery pack housing and is meant to try to give my e-tac a cleaner macroline look.

    Thankz

Don't forget, you can't make inside square corners unless you have a carbon EDM. Good luck with your parts.

I'd be fine with the corners not being perfectly square, I had figured with a milling machine they would be rounded corners which would be fine as long as it was a tight fit with the top piece

The chamber and island on both parts have to be radiussed just like michbich said, but also make the radius on the edges of the island a tiny bit larger. (if the chamber has radiusses of 1/4") then add 0.005-0.01" to the radius of the island. This will insure you can mill a tight fit without having it jamming in the corners.

if i still had my millin machine i would just make it myself but i got rid of it when i moved (bad idea in retrospect) but at the time i rarely used it. I may just end up buying another cause all the local machine shops wanna charge me a fortune to build these 2 pieces. its a piece of cake to mill is you use 2" diameter aluminum cylinders to start with. for the bottom u find the center line and mill all but 1/2" on both sides of the centerline giving you the basic shape. and you use a 1/8 end mill to carve the inner slot. that would make the inner slot mostly square and ensure a tight fit with the top. then the rest on that piece are all just tap and die.
I'm probably just gonna end up having to build it myself I just need to buy me another mill.
