    noob.. i need help....

i just bought an automag w/ and xvalve, the seller said he hadnt used it in a while and that it would need some fine tuning, i have no clue how to fine tune it, and how do i lube it? do i just put some oil (what kind?) around the asa before i air up? anyway it is leaking down the barrel and wont fire, sorry for the nooblet questions, i recently got into automags, and am too use to shockers.

anyway help would be appretiated thanks alot

first off yes oil in the asa will fix you up, types to use something like Autolube, Gold cup something along those lines.

next did you get a bunch of lil brass rings with it? if not you will need a carrier kit, im just assuming its a lvl10 bolt. once you get one of those then you can fine tune it. once you have those then we can point you in a fine tuning direction and get that beast ready to tear em up.

I'd pull the valve out and see just how dry and clean (hopefully) it is inside.
Take the valve apart and the on/off out too.
Put a light coating on everything and put it back together.

Also make sure you're using a high pressure HPA tank. It won't fire with low pressure and CO2 is verboten.

The brass rings Dend78 was refering to are shown in the ebay picture inside the x-valve box. When you air it up try running a squeege down the the barrel and pushing on the bolt it might not be locking up on the sear. It will click if it isn't locked up. If it fires once and doesn't reset unless you push on the bolt again your getting bolt stick and need to play with the power tube o-ring carriers and shims. Read install link refered to above.

Ok level 10 tuning guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0mvr30jKhw
also you can do a search for automags on you tube there are the original tech videos somewhere on there.
Here is a thread with blown up pictures showing the valves disassembled http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=194223 that should get you started.

dude you got a good deal on that mag, the x-valve is probably worth what you paid for it. Did you ever get it shooting right?
