I was thinking about this the other day, and I dont see why they will not work, behind the feedneck, in that space where the bolt cycles. What do you guys think?
Cut throughs on a mag body

Most notable are the ULE bodies (and warpedmephisto's CF body) that have rub marks on them from the bolt rim. You would need to make sure the inside bore was larger than the total non-axial movement of the bolt. With cut-throughs you might also have problems with the body remaining rigid when you tighten the frame screws, which also affects the bolt/valve alignment.Comment

Just do it !!! start with a ULE & go from there
Never seen a through hole body , but I have seen some through holes in railsComment

That's kind of what I thought about the custom white and green sniper that eXo_oUtSiDeR was selling on here. It definitely looks cool and minimalist, but I'd get very anxious about getting paint or dirt in the internals.Originally posted by TwilightGdirt and moving parts don't mix
although it may look cool, it functionally wouldn't be practical and would just cause headaches down the road.

yea but im not sure how practical it is to take the valve out in the middle of a game
....i've got three cuts on the top of my pmag and never had an issue of things getting caught in it. id say as long as the cuts aren't to big then you shouldn't have an issue i can send u picks of mine if you'd like a point of comparison

Do you plan on doing it to a ULE body? The Structural integrity will come into play. Do it to a SS body? You have ALL kinds of meat to remove.
How do you plan on doing it? I am not afraid of getting shot in the holes I have planned for my marker one bit. And there are PLENTY.
I know that all I have to do is pull my hopper off dunk the whole thing under the water and fire off a few shots and all will be well. As for doing it middle of the game??? No such thing. You see if you get hit in the gun you are out anyway. Leave the field, clean it up and come back in.

Yeah it's been thought of. I've even started a couple, but I can't find anyone with the right tools to get it finished up.
There are not alot of folks out there that like hacking up SS for cheap.

Yeah that's an issue as well. One that I've considered and have figured out a solution for as well. I will worry about it if/when I ever get the cuts done.Originally posted by TwilightGI wouldn't be concerned with paint No different than a broken ball in the breach really.
Now sand/dirt/grime.. stuff that LOVES to cling to oil.. that's a different story
