    High pressure no-reg mag possible?

If you're building (and designing!) a new marker by scratch, would it be possible to adopt an Automag type system but without the regulator? So you would have 800 psi coming in behind the mechanical on/off. The trigger would be same principle, you press it to unlatch the bolt which then moves forward against spring pressure to fire the ball.

I'm no engineer, but I imagine the drawback for this kind of design would be the trigger pull. It would be VERY hard on the sear since you're dealing with 800 psi unassisted. Also, the on/off pin would be too hard to push up.

Obviously the bolt and powertube will have to be significantly redesigned to allow a much smaller amount of air out of the marker. The volume chamber could also be much much smaller.

    What do you think?

It could be done,=, and you have the right idea, but the trigger pull would be very hard. What you could do is make an on/off pin the size of the bottom of the ULT pin and that would lighten it and you have o-rings that fit it, but it might be prone to bending.

Isnt the majority of load prior to firing held by the sear, not the on/off pin?

Also, where can i find a picture of this ULT pin.

No actually the majority of the pressure comes from the on/off pin. The sear on the bolt does create friction, but the force generated by that friction is negligible. As for the pictures if you search on here you should be able to find them.
