M1 Carbine Mag - Need help with sear

I'm building an M1 Carbine mag (using a right feed body, am/mm rail, lvl 7 valve). I've got most of the components fitted into a surplus M1 Carbine stock. I'm also using an actual trigger housing, trigger, safety, and mag release.

For reference, I've also done an SKS Mag and used a similar linkage to the sear arm that we've seen on similar mods (M14 for example).

    Here is my problem:
I'm trying to use an actual M1 Carbine trigger. There is simply not enough trigger movement (and room to work with) to pull the sear arm sufficiently to trip the sear.

I'm considering do a pneu set up (how far does the MSV2 lever have to move to activate?).

Or, what about an electronic sear tripper? Can I get a solenoid to push or pull the sear arm?

    Any comments, thought, or ideas?

maybe you could connect the paper clip part higher up on the mag sear so it doesn't need to travel as far. If you don't want to wreck drill bits on the hardened steal sear, Luke can drill the hole in the sear for you. http://lukescustoms.com/page0004.htm

If there's room on the trigger, you might do the opposite by mounting the paperclip part lower on the trigger for more travel.

    Nice rifles!

Yep, I tried something like that. However, there's just not enough travel. That's why I'm really interested in a solenoid. It was easy for me to trip a microswitch.

Pneu trigger pull is usually less than 2mm or so if it's set up right.

Do you have enough room to put in the associated components for either a pneumatic piston or electric solenoid , ie the board, battery , lpr , msv2/3 etc. If you have the room you could put in t board or get a pneu kit from cyberave or zap in the dealer section.

Yes, I have room to assemble the pneu components. But, I'm curious about using a solenoid. I've never messed with electrical components and paintball. It seems like it would be the easiest solution. But, I have no idea what kind of solenoid I would need. Any suggestions?

What is restricting the trigger pull? It looks like it has plenty of room in the trigger guard, so I'm guessing that the trigger housing/trigger profile is acting like a trigger stop. If so, I would think that the trigger profile could be modified a little to give it a longer pull. (Just a guess) You may also consider a shorter on/off pin. A little here and a little there may make the difference.

I can use the same setup I have with the SKS Mag. But I just wanted to try to use the actual M1 trigger. Just the way it sits in the trigger housing doesn't give me much to work with. I'll try and get some detailed pics tomorrow. I've got all winter to cobble this together. I'm hoping to bring to D-Day.

Well you could buy a new or used sear tripper grip frame and scavenge parts or you could go the scenario dreams or ape online site and buy every thing you need. You also may need a ult if you go the electric sear tripper route.

Im just guessing not having any pics of the trigger guard close up, but you should be able to do a little fileing on the inside of the guard where the trigger is to lengthen the slot which would give the trigger more room to move forward and backward. Or at least thats what it looks like
