    Screws

Does anyone know where to purchase machine screws that are NOT industry standard "head diameter"? I'm looking to purchase (in bulk) 6-32 and 8-32 thread sizes with a hex drive. I've looked everywhere but the head diameter is always the same, which is too wide.

Can someone give me a lead?

    Thanks

    Long set screws?

What overall lenght are you looking for?

EX: McMaster-Carr has these up to 2 inches.

McMaster-Carr is the complete source for your plant with over 595,000 products. 98% of products ordered ship from stock and deliver same or next day.

PM the user "SaintNoir" on AngelOwnersGroup; there's a good chance he could help (even with multiple colors )

        Key word "head diameter"

Screws for grip panels, want a "narrow head" (non industry standard size).

Could get some low profile hex head bolts, and some nuts, lock a set of nuts on there and chuck the whole thing up in a drill / dremmel and sand em down.

But that depends on how many you need.

            As in:
6-32 screw> head diameter .226" or smaller (Phillips head)
8-32 screw> head diameter .270" or smaller (Phillips head)

uhhh, nope, I would have to do thousands of these a year, I have no interest in making my own; especially when I give them away with the panels I sell.

                ok, so I'm being slow.

                As in:
6-32 screw> head diameter .226" or smaller (Phillips head)
8-32 screw> head diameter .270" or smaller (Phillips head)
Ok, so I know that this isn't phillips, but it does fit your diameter:

                6-32
                8-32

                Phillips and cheaper too
                6-32
                8-32

Yea the low profile is too much $$, I will have to check the head height on the others, thanks.

I purchase from McMaster Carr all the time, I believe I have seen the Phillips heads screws you provided a link for, but I believe I had decided the "head height" was too much for grip panels, I'll have to recheck.

I need a head height close to a pan head style which is around .097" tall (or less).

                      "Fu" ?

I appreciate the help, but you pretty much followed my previously followed route. I'm not sure where else to check, I know they are made; it's just a matter of figuring out where.

                          Tried Grainger yet?

They have some low profile slot screws in 6-32 that have the head diameter you're looking for.

I could have sworn I picked up some allen head 6-32, 8-32 and 4-40 low profiles from Lowes or Home Depot. I'll look in my bin and toss up some pics in a few. I have to get the kid feed so it'll probably be tonight sometime.

They cost to much to give away by the handfuls.
