    CF Frame and a warp...

Just curious if anyone has ever tried (and succeeded) putting an intelli-switch into a CF single trigger frame... i have a spare one coming in and was thinking of modding it to be able to use the micro switch to control the warp feed.

If no one has tried it, I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts on how one might accomplish it. I have an idea but help and input is more than welcome, as long as its constructive .

I don't think it would be especially difficult, but you'll but up against a lot of space constraints...that CF frame is pretty small inside so you won't have much room to mount the switch.

You'll need to mount some kind of crossbar in there similar to what the iframe has to mount the roller switch onto. Since it doesn't really take any kind of load I don't see why you couldn't just epoxy a piece of plastic on there and drill holes for mounting the switch.

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

Finally found it. check it out. it is possible because this guy did it. its rough, but you can get an idea of the measurements. Ive been meaning to do the same.

        thanks for the link DECOY...

i wonder what he used for the cross member and how mended it together

EDIT: im also wondering if it needs the roller switch, or if i could use a smaller microswitch...

Looks like he used a plastic welding kit.

Technically speaking a roller switch is a microswitch. I haven't done this mod, but I would recommend a roller switch over a straight lever switch because the tolerances will be much more forgiving. Basicaly that sear arm can hit anywhere within a couple millimeter range and activate the switch...but if it's a flat lever you need to be dead on, no slop.

well i ask because im thinking of not using one with the roller...
not to mention it wont be mounted like in an intelliframe where the arm actuates of the sear pin.

The link Decoy posted looks like a pretty good way of doing it...pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking of. What did you have in mind? Something new and different is always worth taking a look at.

Seems like you can fit a roller switch in there, unless you had something new you wanted to try. I suppose one could maybe fit a button style microswitch at the palm side of the frame parallel with the grips so that the sear arm "clicks" it while travelling backward, like a mouse click. Rather than the traditional method where the sear arm rolls over the top of the lever switch pushing it downwards.

I'd worry that the hard stop on the microswitch might mess up your dwell, though.

thats actually what im planning on doing... and im going to set it at the very end of the travel so it will only click when the trigger is pulled all the way
