    E-Mag 2.0 failed ... on to plan A.2

If you saw my E-Mag 2.0 thread you will see I tried to use a noid half the size of the stock emag noid, it worked well but the large down fall was the 9v just didn't last a full day of play so I figured this won't do.

    New mission.

    Ep-E-Mag.

    Features

    Fully functioning mech mode
    Fully functioning EP mode

    Specs
    Utb board
    Moded emag sear
    Palmer lpr
    RT on/off
    Smc noid

Pics and video to follow... (Can't get ninja smile to pull up on my blackberry)

    Update 5-9-11

plugged rear inlet and drilled taped new one and removed some of the bard to make room for the sear rod

Did you put a capacitor inline with the battery? If so, try 2 9vs + a cap + a 9v reg.

Not a bad idea BE, issue is I wouldn't have the room for all that to fit even into the emag battery pack

a 9v + a cap would. If you didnt use one, then that is your problem. Talk to P8ntbal4me, he has the ones you need and they arent that expensive.

What size cap? The bigger the better. I know smaller ones with 9v noids will not work out too well.

6800 uf I think, the one that comes with the utb, I did talk with P8ntbal4me quite a bit about caps while I worked on that project, he seemed to indicate it only helped with ROF not battery life.

the Issue I had was once the battery got below 8v's the noid didn't have the power to cycle the marker. and you need to under stand that the one day of play I didn't even shoot 1k rounds. 700 at best.

this is neither here nor there, Iv moved on, the sear is now set up for my new mod and no turning back to the plunger noids unless I get a new emag sear.

Used this set up over the weekend works great so far, I think the grip panels are pinching the line some other then that its a success so far!

Why not use some LiPo batteries used in the RC industry?

Have a couple that I use on my warp and they've worked great.

the end result of that project was to get everything into the grip frame which would work with a 9v but not some of the LiPo batteries. in the end I think my new project is going to be more reliable and better on batteries.

this is just to get me by tell I get my M90 frame and the new grips from Chris and I'll let the Emag lowers sit.

Are you still using the small SMC noid with MPA3? If so you wont need the cap or the extra battery unless the board is really restrictive on the amount of power it will allow through it. I have hit mid 20s and I get 5 or 6 cases on a battery as a minimum. The problem may be the position of the ram. It has to be really high to avoid interfering with the trigger rod. So you may need more pressure to activate it than this noin can provide or handle.

Air soldier sells a small noid that I use in my reverse mag that can handle a huge amount of pressure. But they are slightly bigger.

Big-e, have you had issues with the UTB board and providing enough power in the past? Was it an EM setup? because I dont think this noid uses near as much power, but I have not actually looked it up so I may be wrong.

I am using a SMC noid and MPA3, Big-E was saying I should use 2 9v and cap for my old set up, this one only has a single 9v and cap cause the cap where wired in from before. I could remove it but if its not going to hurt anything I'll leave it there cause I have the room.

the RT on off might have some issues with the ram being so High, but the ULT seemed to work fine.

also I need to get a new plunger or rod for the ram, its farther away from the sear then it needs to be so that might help, dunno if I get the same force no matter how close it is or what.

right now I'm having problems getting my LPR to seal in the new location. the raw sharp threads eat Teflon tape like its nothing.
