    Halo Tinkering - ?????

I was curious if anyone was able to hijack power from your E-mag to power the Halo. I know i've seen a few warps on here that plug right into the board and run off the gun's battery instead.

Has anyone tried this with a Halo?

Those AAs are too darn heavy!!!

I haven't actually done it with a Halo but I do run both my Warp and Revy off of my EMag battery. I checked the Odyssey paintball website and it says the HALO input is 9V. DigiKey convienently has a 9V Voltage Regulator available. I checked the datasheet and this part has and the specs; Rated 1 amp (not sure about the heatsink). 24V maximum input. Output: +9VDC. The 12V Regulator I use for the Warp has the following specs (for comparison); Rated 1 amp (heat sink required). 35VDC maximum input. Output: +12VDC. The EMag battery puts out about 18V so you should be good there. It seems like it should work to me. HTH.
    My feedback.

-the halo's feeding preformance is based on it's ability to keep it's spring constantly wound
-there are no sensors to tell how wound the spring is, the software makes a best guess of how long to spin up the motor to wind up the spring.
-AA cels have more curent capacity than AAA cells
-so if a halo were powered off of AAA cells, at 9 volts, there would be less power going to the motor, so the motor would not keep the spring as wound as compared to AA cells

if you were to dump 13.2v into the halo, at 680 mah, that would be about the same power as 9 volts going into the halo at 1000 mah like 9 watts ish.
As society and the problems that face it become more and more complex and machines become more and more intelligent, people will let machines make more of their decisions for them, simply because machine-made decisions will bring better results than man-made ones. Eventually a stage may be reached at which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so complex that human beings will be incapable of making them intelligently. At that stage the machines will be in effective control. People won't be able to just turn the machines off, because they will be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide

sometimes I just freaking hate people. which means the next day I will love them for the sake of balance, but right now I will just concentrate on the hating. Hate hate hate. Blaaaarg! ;)

don't remember where I saw it, but someone powered a halo, warp, and E-mag off a R/C car battery. I think it would take some work though.
