Does anyone know the threading on the front block screw, and the thread sizes on the rods? I think I may have to have them re-tapped.

If they're stripped you may not be able to re-tap them. You might have to use a "hela-coil". (sp).
Sorry, can't help you with thread sizes, I don't have one to measure. You might take the rod to your local hardware store and use their thread guage....
