I think they are threaded because it is the same design as a regular ULE only turned. The idea of a set-screw is good. You could also make a clampiny mechanism similar to the rogue feed tube:

I would like to see a rail that is carved to be aesthetically pleasing but will work with a regular mag and warp ule bodies. I want to upgrade to a warp ule but right now have a classic mag

The Warp ULE feed neck is threaded like the vert ULE bodies. No one that I'm aware of makes a threaded 90 degree adapter. However, ProTeam has made an aluminum 90 degree adapter for quite a while. It's got a set screw to tighten it down onto the feed tube.

time to whip out the dry-erase board

I thought I'd post some more of my beautiful artwork

My first drawing is of an idea for the sleeve that could go over the feed neck.

This one, an idea for an angled feed neck that would completely replace the existing feed neck. To me this is the best idea, mostly because it would allow for the shortest overall adapter.

              And something to think about:

The warp hose can be held into the adapter by o-rings, just like the way its held into the plastic 90* adapter.

I took this picture of my setup from the front to show how the warp hose doesn't necessisarily need to be at 90*.
