    Barrel Threading/Detents

I am on the verge of producing a new paintball gun and I have a few questions. Since im having a hell of a time getting ahold of anybody important at WGP ill ask you.

Is there any liscencing agreement I would need to sign to use autococker detents and barrel threads? Thank you.

Now for a shameless self promotion.

    Some specs on the Phoenix.

The Phoenix is a closed bolt, mechanical marker. Similar to an autococker but it uses a much more reliable system. To tune the Phoenix you simply adjust a regulator in the grip frame. This changes the cyclic rate. When set up properly with your hopper chopping will be a thing of the past.

The best feature of the Phoenix is the trigger pull; Fully mechanical, yet adjustable down to half of a millimeter with a pull of only a few ounces. The Phoenix's patent pending trigger group will give you a rate of fire like a high end electro without having to worry about charging batteries, weather conditions or solenoid blowouts.

The Phoenix comes stock with the following:
    Delrin bolt
    Polished and rounded internals
    Integrated regulator
Choice of blade or grooved triggers
    Choice of feed necks
    Magnetic trigger return
Entire gun can be stripped without tools
Modular design allows replacement of breach
    Lifetime warranty.

I will start accepting preorders within the next few weeks. Watch the dealer's forum.

As far as I know you don't need to at all. I don't think that is possible to copyright a thread. Mostly likely they a just a prexisting thread that got autococker as a nick name cause no one wanted to ask if you sold and 10-32 threaded barrels. I would ask AGD to cause they use cocker threaded parts........

All i have to say is that one of the hardest threads to find is the barrel threads. I work at a tool and die shop and we can't even get the thread of 15/16-19 and we have 1000's of differnt tap and stuff. it is a custom tap that you would need to have made up. because a 15/16-20 tap would be to big and if you put the barrel in to tight you could stripp the body. but if you do use a 15/16-20 tap make sure that it has a flat head and 4 fluts and use lots of tap oil. use oil that is called Tap magic.

i was gunna say - just cut them on a lathe. 60* cutter, 20 tpi...

Anyway, no, you dont need to sign anything. Its a thread, who cares who uses it? same thing for the ball detents.

I was just checking out of paranoia. If smart parts can patent and existing invention, wgp can be possesive about using a certain threading on barrels.
