    Can Anyone Make This?

    Here's my idea:

Here's a shot of my Mag with a stock black MiniMag body. However, I got to thinking that I like the appearance of the gun without a barrel in it, and realized there's a very simple solution to make this work.

Ok, so what I'm talking about doing is utilizing a powdercoated stock AutoMag PF body...and then having a barrel made that looks like the forward part of a MiniMag body.

The custom barrel would be made out of SS so it could be powercoated and match the stock body. The slots in the stock MM body would be reproduced in the custom barrel and would travel through to the inner diameter of the barrel, creating a pseudo muzzle break. I think this would be the coolest looking thing ever. It would work with both left handed and right handed PF's (so the L's would be milled for both). Can anyone do this? Since all the dimensions are already easy to find, I just need someone to mock it up and CNC it. Any ideas?

that would be sweet, but wouldnt it look just as good if the barrel was longer thus making the body look long?

Yeah, but it would look very similar in profile to a standard Crown Point barrel. My idea was to maximize the maneuverability and minimize the size of the gun while still retaining a custom aesthetic. Plus, the longer the barrel, the heavier the gun. Can anyone make this?

Well, it would be cool but you won't be able to shoot a ball any faster than 250fps. I have a 3" barrel and the max I could shoot was 270. This barrel's effective bore is even less than mine so you are going to lose a lot of power and efficiency. You'd have to get a bigger tank and thus gain the weight you lost.

          Well.....

The fast and easy thing would to just cut off a stock barrel right at the end of the body. The only trick would be that you'd have to devise a method to remove the barrel.Maybe grind a notch in the top and bottom of the outside of the barrel that you could grab with a needle nose plier, twist and turn.

          Just a wild thought.

You bring up an interesting point. Perhaps making the barrel extend so that it is as long as a stock MM barrel will solve the problem. The stockers only stick out about 1" more right?

            RR

The idea is that the MiniMag 'vents' would travel through the (solid) barrel plug and end up becoming muzzle breaks. Just cutting down the stock barrel wouldn't have the desired effect (mostly because you would still see a distinction between the body and the barrel), but I did pursue a similar logic chain as you described.

you need 7-8 inches for a ball to gain the speed it needs in other words 3" will just roal ut the barrel at 5fps max

wrong, 3" achieves 250 fps but at that length you can run down your tank in 1 game.

                        This gun.....

Has a whole set of Lapcos cut down to 5".

                        And this gun.....

Uses a 10" ported barrel w/ 4" inserts and both get get nearly identical effeciency to my other "typical length" barrels.

My MicroMag (fixed barrel) has like a 4" barrel and looks similar to the Crown Point. I haven't actually measured it though, but it can't be much longer. My Warped Sportz cradle sticks out past the end of the barrel Man that thing rocks. You do sacrifice efficiency and a little bit of accuracy but it makes an awesome front/mid gun.

Why not cut a stock barrel down or get an Equation:
