    New Idea For Mags

Hey, I am a hyperframe owner, and i love my hyperframe. The only thing i don't like about it, is that the frame eats up my sear. So, I have an idea to make a TITANIUM sear, lighter and stronger and hopefully won't get eaten away. Tell me if this is a good idea. I can't make these sears but if anyone can make one or go into production (hint hint AGD) then tell me, that would be awesome.

    thanks for your looking.

Titanium is not as strong as hardened steel. It is as strong as stainless steel and lighter, but it wont fare any better than the current sears.

aren't the sears they have now made out of brass? that's kind of what it looks like, i'm probably wrong though.

Brass? Nooooo...that's cadmium plated hardened steel. The cadmium is a sacrificial layer of metal. It corrodes rather than the steel below it.

Make them harder? Have you ever tried to file/saw/drill into an Automag sear? It's damn near impossible right now, I'm not sure how you could make it much harder without making it cost a heck of a lot more.

Made in USA - it matters.

Let's see...your Hyperframe chews up sears. Yet you expect AGD to find a solution for a problem with a product they don't make?

              Why don't you call Centerflag?

                go to warpig's technical section.
then go to the hyperframe article on the hyperframe. In the article bill ran into a similar problem. your sear is not re setting correctly due probably to your on off pins length. In any rate you will need to talk to centerflag about this problem. They could send out a new valve or pin to you.

the solution is with the aftermarket product not the stock.
