they make a navel jelly just for alluminum, and you can polish after that. Lye is big time nasty stuff, avoid it if you can, use caution if you can't.

yeah you can strip it and polish it but it wont keep its shine for a long time bc the alu will oxidide? you can have it clear anodized and polish it but it will come out greyish not chrome

A little Mother's alluminum mag wheel polish once every few months will take care of the dulling. You can get that at any auto store.

Use aluminum navel jelly to strip and mothers to polish, I use a buffing wheel on grinder buffer for best results, you can do it by hand, it just takes alot longer.

Best done in a well ventilated area, DO NOT breath fumes, or you will be posting from the emergency room. wear heavy rubber gloves and follow manufacturers warnings listed on lable. Mothrs isn't bad, but lye or navel jelly will eat the skin off your bones, and the fumes will choke you.

So you would rather bag on the guy in his own thread, and get into a pissing contest with another member, rather than help him out by posting your search the first time. If it only took 2 seconds, why do you have to try and use AO as your personal bullying play area? If your here to help, do it. If your not, don't waste your time posting cause nobody wants to hear it.

thank you, people just rag on other people to increase their e-penis size, it takes just as much effort to be an ******* as it does to be helpful.

argnot-your advise (as you call it in your pm to me) was short and smug, like you don't have time to answer his question. I wasn't the only one who took it this way, because another member posted a message right after mine. Then you had to prove him wrong by posting an"I told you so" message. The whole idea behind these type of forums is for people to help each other out. I may know or have something you need or vise versa. But just telling the guy to "go look for it" is just like telling a kid who wants to know how to spell a word to go look in the dictionary.Yes it can be done that way, but it's not the answer he is looking for. As for speed of information? Like I said, post what you have, and help the guy out. Yes it has been posted before, and will be again. But if you don't want to be mistaken for a jerk, don't tell people to "do a search" when they ask a question. They probably already tried and came up with nothing because they did'nt know what to seach for.Maybe they didn't, help them out anyway! Rick

Dude. I was going to give you the option to do this the move private way but you seem to feel that posting this in a public form more to your liking. You seriously are ragging on me at this point in time making you a hypocrite. My version of help my be to the point and blunt but would you rather have some one say ummm.... I think you can remove anno using this method but I am not to sure or you can take it off that way but it is dangerous. Then go in and ask you questions and figure out what you need exactly and then find out exactly how to do it. That only one way considering the multipul ways of doing it. This thread only really covered one method. You can use the search option which some people don't realize exists. I know people that didnt know that it did. But I will repeat again my answer was just an easy way for him to get the information that he needed and more then one way to strip anno. If you and some one else took it the wrong way then my bad maybe I will try to be more bubbley when I respond to posts. Would that make you happy....? And please stop ragging on me publicly like I said if you wanna talk about it in private cause it is pretty clear you have issues with this I am up for talking. So until that time peace.
