    my latest works of art

After being tired with the same old look and color of my polished ss mainbody, i decided it was time for a change

I bet you've never seen a green SS Automag

Also I didn't care for my foregrip anymore which just kind of added too much front weight and the annodizing started changing from black to a greenish tint

Who needs a metal foregrip? Not me...

the reason it's not on my mag right now is because of a good idea gone wrong, we put a nut in the top of it in a drilled out hole, but after some handling the nut started pulling out of the top of the grip, this weekend hopefully we will get it to stay on.

Why don't you drill and tap a hole?

2 Reasons: 1. we didn't think that would hold too well being wood, 2. we already have drilled a hole too big to tap now.

what my dad figured is we could take an aluminum rod, drill a long hole down the center of the grip, place the rod in the grip, and tap the end of the rod, essentially you would be holding onto the rod as it would be just a tad bit shorter than the grip

I needed something similar for a shift knob on my car. I got a threaded coupler from the hardware store, which is basically a nut that's about an inch long. I drilled a hole big enough for it in the shift knob and cemented it in with JB weld. Similar to your aluminum rod idea, but with less work.

drill it a little bigger and stick like a old PT spacer in it and drill it smooth on the inside and tap it

I like it. A departure from the norm is always good. One thing you could try is making one out of a plastic like delrin or ABS. Like weight and very sturdy.
