    Slitting paintballs and backspin-combined

OK First off I gotta admit that neither of these ideas were mine. One of them (the backspin idea) cane from the guy who talked about the Sticky hands and a panel. The other (slitting paintballs to help with breaking) came from someone else; I can't remember who so if it's you just tell me . What I was thinking was that the sticky hand type material didn't hold up well enough to use, and the slitting problem came from the part about where to put the pin, if it was a pin how to make sure it didn't come out, if even to use a pin. Anyway, I was thinking-- why not combine the ideas to help with balls breaking and further distance? Increased distance helps the balls to break less so if they were slitted some they would break more than if not. What if you put a small razor blade in the top of the barrel only at a slight angle so that it would cut the ball and induce backspin at the same time? I don't currently have an extra barrel to test this on but when I can I'll try it. If any of you wanna try go ahead. Post wahtcha think.

welp i tryed it....cutting balls dosent work at all
they rip open and the paint flys like in a normal barrel break ...the only diff is the shell flys about 10ft away from you

but i did get the backspin thing down

Maybe try backing the razor out a little? So not as much slit in it?

          yea i did
i backed it out and it didnt cut...and if it did i worked great
(the ball flew and broke on my shed)
now im not sure if the razor caused backspin because i used a diff. thing for the back spin p[art

            .

i had to read this a couple of times. to be honest it makes no sense. somehow embedding a razor blade in the end of a barrel so that it induces backspin and breaks on contact.

i dont think this would create any backspin. if anything it would seem to send it off in an odd path, not even consistent at that. if it even left the barrel as a complete ball.

sorry but this seems far fetched and not even worth ruining a barrel for.

ramenjames, id say any ball would break on the side of a shed.

              Re: .

I have a Thunder Pig on my 98 that has big slits for porting. Looks like it'll work fine to test this idea so I don't have to mod the barrel.

Far-fetched ideas are the best ones.

I was thinking put the razor in the beginning of the barrel. Plus I'm not saying put it in like a half inch, I was thinking more like 3mm or so. Just enough to enduce some backspin and to give the ball a slit. The problem we seem to be having is that to have enough razor to cause backspin ruins the shot. Possibly a really long one or something? BTW that's why you buy the $10 barrels off of Ebay
