I haven't checked specifically for gun-body type stuff, but http://www.use-enco.com and http://www.onlinemetals.com should have some good stuff.

I guess the next logical question would be what kind of aluminum to use for best results. There are like 6 different kinds.Comment

Actually, there are thousands of different alloys of aluminum. Just use 6061-T6. It's strong, hard, inexpensive, and anodizes well; Everything you want for a paintball gun. Many, many other alloys will work, too. If you have a question about a specific alloy, just ask.In elementary school, in case of fire you have to line up quietly in a single file line from smallest to tallest. What is the logic? Do tall people burn slower?Comment

I second that suggestion. 6061-T6 is a good cheep aluminum that machines well. For applications where you really need high strength, you could go with 7075, like AGD does on their ULE bodies. Its (roughly) twice as strong but twice the price.Originally posted by NeoMoses

diameters
Anyone know exactly what the inside diameter you would need for the tubes in a mag or in a cocker, and what is the thinnest the walls should be to be safe and avoid damage?Feedback: http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...hreadid=105565

Cocker threads are 15/16 x 20tpi, use .875 ID for thread area then smaller for chamber area. Smallest OD for that thread would be 1.000. Mag bodies are 1.000 ID and 1.125 OD (steel), aluminum may also work at that thickness.Good Traders-Tobz,Blennidae,GhilleGuy,Snake847,jondon005,dzaide ,LuisV,CodeMA,Prezents,badinfo,B.C.,jeffremillerComment

6061-T6511 is aerospace grade, and that's what a LOT of the higher quality parts are made out of.
I buy all my materials at a scrap yard near my house. My company does work for them, and they hook me up. Plus they recently invested over $30K in a handheld device that can "read" any metal and tell you not only what metal it is, but what grade, and what the percentages of various metals are in any alloys. It's like woh. --DaveI have better qualities, I am funnier, sexier, and my a$$ is like 'woh' (2/15/2004 11:51 pm)

You will have to buy the closest demention you can and ream the ID and the turn to OD to spec. Try www.onlinemetals.com they are the best!Last edited by Rick927; 02-27-2004, 07:53 PM.Good Traders-Tobz,Blennidae,GhilleGuy,Snake847,jondon005,dzaide ,LuisV,CodeMA,Prezents,badinfo,B.C.,jeffremillerComment
