    Starting place for electronics

I'm looking for some good sites that sell solenoids, and other parts that could be used in tinkering with paintball markers. I figure those of you in this forum have already found some good hobbyist type sites. I've browsed Thomas Register a bit, but you really need to know exactly what you are looking for in order to get decent results. I'm just looking for some parts to use with BASIC STAMPS to get the programming and fundamentals down before I try anything too serious. Thank you in advance.

Definetly check out Solenoid City I'll be buying a solenoid from them very soon for my E-mag.

Forgot to mention: The E-mag's solenoid is model number 15-75 or something like that.

That's exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. Thanks for the tips. I have been very curious about what kind of solenoid might work with the ult in my rt pro. Since the Emag is being discontinued and I really like the compactness of the rt pro I was thinking I might be able to rig something up that can take advantage of this and have a a little fun programming and building something interesting for a change.

anybody know if one of those tiny 68-38 Tubular noids would be able to move a sear?

My guess would be no, but the solenoids are fairly cheap so if it doesn't, you're not blowing lots of money for nothing. If you're planning on downsizing the solenoid though, you must get the ULT kit, or it simply will not work.

Ya I have a ult.. So which one do you guys think would work the best (I want the smallest one possible that would still be able to work)

.. And if the 15-75 one is in the e-mags then that may be an option.

What kind of grip frame do people think would be a good starting point for building an e-frame for the mag? I'm more interested in the electronics portion of the project than fabricating a new frame. The intelliframe looks pretty cramped in it's stock configuration, but I like the idea of using the stock triggers. Didn't the old dye frames also use the stock trigger? Were they any roomier? I guess I could always make a little more room with a dremmel, but I don't want to destroy the frame more than necessary. My skills are more geared towards the soldering, and programming end than the metal working end. I've only really worked with the benchmark, intelliframe, and Emag frame, so I'm not sure how the other aftermarket mag frames stack up.

Does anyone know the model of noid I'd be looking for if I wanted to put on in a cocker frame? I would be looking for either

a.) The same noid used in spyders, where it pushes the sear and lets the spring force reset it.

b.) The same noid used in the frame of an eblade, for the same purpose.

I am basically looking for a noid that can move a part which is basically the top of the hinge frame trigger and be activated by a board, maybe even the board in my E-Rex, and do the work of the finger, like an Uprising almost, but I'd use the T-board when it's made available with bouncebreak (break beam only right now, and I have my Merlin tapped for bouncebreak).

I am probably going to fiddle with this, but if it ends up to pricey or complicated, I'd wait till hopefully eblades become cheaper. However, if it is feasible, it'd be cool having a switch activated E-Merlin w/ eyes.

I believe the Emag uses a pull type solenoid. If you plan on using an Emag sear this would probably be the way to go.
