ive got a spyder compact....an very old one. before the quick strip pins. Anyway. I wanna mill the back off of it. I want to cut the top tube up till where the bolt is, so it looks like the back of a timmy. What should i cut it with, and whats the best way to do it? what else do i need to know?

Second, i want to find a way to put a quick strip bolt in it...again like a timmy bolt. Would it be possible to modify the stock bolt? or is there another bolt i could modify?

A bandsaw will work well for the larger cut, and you can do the rounding and finishing with a rotary tool and some sanding disks. As for the bolt, a timmy bolt shoud drop right in, although you may need to sorten the pin a bit.
