Mag n00b wanting to build one from scratch

    Hi there!

I'm a mag n00b and I am interested in building a mag from scratch after seeing the article on Warpig and the deadlywind trigger frames and bodies :)

what parts do I need apart from....

    1. Deadlywind Karta body & Frame
    2. Deadlywind Trigger (when it's released)
    3. X-Valve
    4. Lvl 10 Bolt
    5. Airsystem

Also is there a way of reducing the opperating pressure of the marker down to something like 400Psi rather that the 800 (is that right??) Psi of the stock valve?

would it be cheaper to buy a ULE mag from AGD then butcher it to do the mods to?

    Cheers!

no, xvalve requires around 750+ pressure to cycle. anything below that and it wont work. ule mag would be alot cheaper than the karta ****. the deadlywind trigger will be *** expensive too.

There's no need to reduce it - it's already around 400 psi. The 750-800 psi is not the operating pressure of the 'mag, that is the input pressure of the regulator that is built into the 'mag. The regilator in the X-Valve drops the pressure to around 400 psi.

so the X-valve is pretty efficient then...
I had heard they were a bit gas hungry :)

I know the ULE will be a lot cheaper, but I want something that looks nice to impress the sponsors with...

if they like them, then they'll be buying for the whole team...

I dunno if the ULE deal the AGD are doing on the website would be worth buying, then bolting on Deadlywinds extras as an after thought - i.e. $250 for the ULE + 90 for an inteliframe (for now) + a few extras, then $300 for the karta and $??? for the hAir trigger.

any other worthwhile mods or replacements to think about when building/buying?

Gas efficiency, in terms of the quantity of gas used for each shot (how many shots you get per tank fill) is not necessarily in a direct relation to the pressure measured at any point in a paintgun.

                My Parts List...

                ULE Body
                Wingless RougeRail
                RogueGrip
                Rogue's clamping Feedneck
Rogue's Vertframe (when it comes out)
                ULT
                Nice light FW tank
The nessecities (X-valve, Level X, yadda, yadda)

IMO: This setup will give you an uberlight setup with not that much in the way of cost (compared to your Karta body). While a Karta Body is definately a huge cosmetic improvement, it won't do anything for your performance (except maybe boost your confidence). As far as DW's hAir Trigger goes, I'm thinkin' thats gonna be around the $200-$250 mark (overestimation is always better than underestimation in my book). The reason I say this is because it is not going to be a drop-in upgrade. It is a whole other gripframe, and probably a long way off to boot. Rogue's Vertframe and RougeGrip will give your marker a little extra touch o' class.

                Anyway, that's just my $.02

I think your best bet is getting the ULE Custom deal with the ULE body, sell the body and buy a Karta. The ULE body is very cheap in the ULE Custom deal, so you can get some money back selling it. That way you get all the parts you need as well.

Then wait until the hAir is released, be ready to pay (200-250 might be an underestimation), and start ripping =)

I can be patient until the new frame is released :)
until then I think I'll get that ULE custom deal (it's damned cheap anyhow!), with an inteliframe for now and do it that way

just gotta get the $400 together for the ULE kit now!

Just so that you know, if you want the ULE body and intelliframe, it's gonna cost closer to 500$ than 400$
