Alright have an old BE silver eagle here in front of my and its leaking like mad. Well I think i found out what it is but I wanted to amke sure before i start drilling. Is the cupseal supposed to sit flush with the valve, and the valve stem come out the other side? Ill try to explain better if I out the valve stem through the valve it stops before coming out the other side because the hole is to small and the cupseal is like 1/2 inch away from the valve. So if your still with me should i drill the valve hole larger, or shave down the valve stem?

That will sometimes happen with time. The hammer hitting the stem repeatedly will cause the stem to deform slighly and cause it to bind.
Drill the valve a bit and also lighly sand the stem so it is smoth.

Wouldn't it be better to sand the valve stem? If he drills the valve, he vill never be able to install a new valve stem.
