    Loader Motors

Well, its like this, My buddy and I are putting together a loader, and currently have a body set up for the design we are trying out. This loader will be feeding from underneath the marker, and hence against gravity. So I guess basically what we are doing is putting together Warp feed that doesn't require a hopper (i.e. has its own ball storage).

Anyhow, We are looking for small electronic motors that won't burn out with the extra force required to feed balls vertically. Any suggestions?

what kind of voltage? an idea for you is to use aftermarket motors from airsoft guns, or aftermarket RC car motors. Im not surre exactly what your design is so i can't be certain but I'm pretty sure you will get some pretty good results from one of those.

Good idea on the rc cars, those motors tend be pretty rugged. Voltage isn't a big deal, we have quite a few diffrent options to chose from right now. So far we've been working with bakelite for our shell, but we are going to switch material once we get the motor and electronics working right, simply because I just don't trust that material to perform well under stressful conditions.

Why not try to pick up a broken warp and use its motor? You already knows it works well.

not a bad idea, but being as this is a prototype for future generations of this loader, I'll try out the rc car motors first and see how they work. Now the next thing, How to stress test a loder... oh wait, the board and actual loading mechanics come first.

RC motor likely not good w/o belt reduction, those are high rpm.

            Try a servo.

a servo isn't a bad idea. Using one of the servos from a revvie might be to slow though. That's exactly why i suggested the RC motor. there are only two ways to reduce a motors speed, gears and belts. Rubber bands work well to a point as belts. what i think you will have to do is go to a hobby store and buy a small belt for an RC car. I would get a belt with hubs in it, so it can take more torque. I might be wrong to think that you need that though, paintballs really dont weigh that much.
