    sear trip travel?

for something to trip the sear on a cocker, how long am i looking for?

also, i was looking at the ones in the spyder eframes, but arn't those momentary sears? or does the "board" control the momentaryness.

You don't need much and the sear lug is adjustable so you can make changes.

A Spyder electro frame uses a spring to hold the sear up. The solenoid is only energized long enough to release the striker. Then the spring kicks it back up.

in general, the sear needs to make contact with a minimum of 1.5mm, or about 1/16" of the hammer lug on a cocker. I know this from making my own electro-cockers.

but, it depends on where your positioning the solenoid, in reference to the pivot point of the sear, as to how far the solenoid plunger travel is. the shorter the better with solenoids.

you'll find the solenoid only needs to be energized for about 4 or 5 msec.

        alright.

elec. you used a s-10-50 pull type noid on your 2nd (? i beleive) electro cocker. how is that running for you?

also, i plan not using a board (morlock) on a diy elec. cocker. is that possible? i'd have 2 switches (one for the trigger to release the sear, 2nd to acutate the 4way to recock). elec, i'd really like to talk to you thru PM's if you could help me out thru this process if you have the time, just some pictures i've found and such i'd like to go over.
