    Closed Bolt, Pneumatic Spyder

    Hey all you AO Brainiacs!

I'm considering embarking on a quest to create a closed-bolt, electro-pneumatic Spyder. It would be a mix of an Omen and an Intimidator, and would be housed in the body of a Spyder.

    Here are my plans:
    Get Spyder or Spyder Clone
    Get Evil Omen Internals
    Get Intimidator RAM and pneumatics
Get IS Board w/ Eyes and Switch
    Get Angel Space Frame

But I need help first, because I have no clue about Intimidator Pneus. I can handle an Omen just fine, but the Ram confounds me! Is it possible to put a "Timmy" ram inside a Spyder? Would I then need an LPR at the front of the Spyder? One a scale of 1-5, 5 being the hardest, how difficult would it be to do this? Do I need a special trigger frame for this, or would normal Spyder electronics work?

    Thanks guys,
    I'm excited about this project!

    Jacob

Okay, back on topic. What valves do Intimidators use? Would a Spyder Valve suffice, or would I need to have a custom valve fabricated for me? If so, what would it need to look/be like?

    Thanks,

    Jacob

Thank you, but that's not my question. I'm perfectly aware of how to convert the Spyder into an Intimidator. Consider my project akin to creating a pneumatic Omen. Is it possible? Yes, but it's going to be hard.

wouldnt it end up like an old schocker or an excali then? you'd need two soleniods, one to drive the ram to fire the gun, and another to control the re-cock cycle. You could probably get by on one lpr, since you could use the same pressure to re-cock the gun as to drive the ram....although the re-cock presure would be prettu high, since the ram pressure on a timmy is usually at least 65 psi.

Well considering that the omens recock greatly depends on the blow back after firing. I doubt it could work, unless you used the same valve out of the omen. Instead of the valve being tripped by the ole hammer and spring combo just uses the ram instead, but I don't know how it would effect the firing or if it could mess up the ram itself. What benefits would this create in the first place besides lower kick and closed bolt which has no advantages at all? Or is this one of those "hey, im gonna do it because its fun and different type of deals?"
