I think it has to be magnetized in order to powder coat something.

Crap. I didn't think so. Any second opinions, per chance? Anyway, if it's not PC able, then what would you reccommend be the best way to color a body with some JB weld on it?

Good automotive coating.....then cover it with this...http://www.staminainc.com/paint/epoxytopcoat.html

It's similar to the POR15 coatings you've heard of....its waaaay tougher than commercial anno.

Wow, that's cool. I think I could go with something likee that. I knew that paint usually wasn't the best way to go with stuff like pball markers but with a super duper coat of that stuff I should be OK then. How do you apply that, like brush it on, wipe it on (like with a rag or something), or what?

What do you need to repair? I have some stuff that is similar to JB Weld, but it can be powder coated, machined etc.

Well the problem is that I already have the JB on it. It's an automag body that I'm using in a little project, had to mess with the feed tube hole and plug the last one. By any chance is this stuff you're talking about called Lab Metal? I saw that stuff on Caswell's site and am thinking about getting some.

The only thing I can think to try is an ohm meter, if it conducts electricity I would gamble to say yes....

If all elso fails, grind off the JB weld and just weld the on the feed tube and patch the old hole.

I was thinking use some of that Lab Solvent and thinning it enough to be able to spray it on. Where did you get yours? I saw it at Eastwood and Caswell but I like to shop around.

Humm, I've used the stuff several times and I don't really think that would work...

Can you post a picture or e-mail it to me?

Nah that's really OK, I don't have a really good method of taking pictures right now. If I can't spray it on I think I'll just glob on a huge layer and then turn it down on a lathe (not the underside, just the visible part). I'll post a bunch of pics if I ever get this thing off the ground, and if I get some way of taking pics before it becomes a necessity then I'll email ya some, I bet you'd find it interesting.

                              First line under "Lab Solvent"
"A blend of solvents for thinning Lab-metal to paint consistency for brushing or spraying."

Now not having used the stuff I can't make a judgement on if you can do it like that or not. I was taking my info from that website, and you can never tell what is crap claims or what is true about things from websites that sell it . Maybe you just need to pour a lot of solvent in with some of the paste and spray on several coats or something. I dunno, I figure I'll get some of that eventually anyway and tinker with it some on my own.
