    The feedneck IS press fit.

Are you wanting to keep the vert feed option AND allow for side feed?

    Which Gen body is it?

I'm pretty sure there were only vert feed micro 2000s..
Or maybe there is more gens then I know of..
Theres the old skool (slash milling with powerfeed)
and the micro 2000s (squiggles with vert)?
      Right?

Actually that's correct. Brain fart on my part.

I was thinking in terms of the site rail and how it may add issue to the milling depending on which gen body.'Vert' simply lost my attention for second.

Yes, it's the Micro 2000. Any idea how to remove the vert tube with out destroying it??

RRfireblade Figured I'd go with a Warp only mod....

                Hmm,

That'll be tough. It's pressed in and then re-bored and honed.....really locks that puppy in there.

Did you call PTP about that a week or 2 ago?

No, it wasn't me that called... Do you work for them?

Well if the vert feed is not likly to come out I guess I could just mill it down to match the body, then cut a plug for the hole..........

That was going to be my suggestion if you dont't want to chance damaging the body, cause you could try and fixture it up and press the neck out. But like I said,it's in there pretty good.

I'd mill it more or less flush, build a parabolic insert,re-located the detent and go in from the side.Keep in mind if your going to thread or press a feed in for the side, you may have to re-bore and hone the body again.I don't think there's enough 'meat' on the side to press or thread in another neck and not interfere with the interior bore.

If I'm interpreting this right (which I might not be, having virtually no experience with one of these) you could try making 2 rods, one the ID of the feed tube and one the ID of the part of the body that has the most "meat" to it, then wiggling them against each other for a while while you watch TV or something, going slowly so you don't break anything, but at the same time kinda loosening that seal. I wonder how much room I have to play with in this part of the body? I would imagine it would be difficult to do without removing some material. Any ideas?

I don't remember off the top of my head.If you look into the slot where the detent arm runs through, that's pretty much it.There may be enough room to thread something in there, it's not like it has to be strong enough to support a loaded hopper, but I don't believe there's enough room for a bore and a press fit pocket.

That's going to require a pretty good size tap too.
