    What controls dwell?

On a warp or hopper what controls the dwell time? Basically, how can I wire something to make the dwell longer/shorter with or without a circuit board.

You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.

You should buy my gun because I have 5000 posts that say I care.

Uhh. dwell in pb terms is how long the valve stays open. Other than that, i don't understand what you could mean?

Well, dwell for a Warp is how long it continues spinning after the vibration sensor or trigger-switch signal it to start. Warps are adjusted by jumpers.

Most hoppers don't have adjustments as far as I know. The microcontroller programming controls the mechanism.

I ask because...I have modded my warp and now it has NO board. Its controlled via mircoswitch. For strings of paint theres no problem but for single shots it misfeeds now and then. I know that warps are controlled be jumpers but I wanted to know how the make the warp spin longer AFTER the mircoswitch is activated.

I also want to intellifeed my EVO and want to control the dwell so it doesn't slow down. Thanks!

How's that work? Got a link to pictures and how to do the mod?

The board is what controls the dwell. Pull the board and you lose the easy way of doing it.
You could try putting a cap in the circuit with a long discharge time, but you'd end up doing more work than it's worth just to make it work. Put the board back in and intellifeed the system - I don't see the advantage of not having the board in there.

Well, unless you're overdriving the motor by some stupid amount that would normally toast the board...

I think he is. Anyway You can adjust the intellfeed switch in the grip to engage as early as possible if you haven't already.

                Well, if that's the case...

The warp motor is simply being driven by a switch connected to a battery?

Seems that if you want to power the motor with a higher voltage than the board can handle you could still use the board for motor control but build a separate circuit for the higher power.

Just need to switch an adequately rated transistor with the board.

                No?

If you mean an electro-pneumatic, then the dwell is how long the solonoid stays enguaged, and thus how long it holds open the valve. The dwell is adjusted by the board, and just is tells you how long it will hold open, thus forcing the ram to stay forward holding the valve open longer or shorter, depending on what it's set at.
