Got an old Model 98, looking to upgrade it

I've got an orginal style Model 98 that I got when they first came out. A few years ago I traded up to an Emag, but I have found it just isn't reliable enough. I'm looking to go back to my 98, but there are things that I'd want to upgrade to it before I do. I understand that the electro and RT kits are supposed to be for the Custom only, but is it possible the drop them in the original model with a little milling? And what would it take to install a Warp feed on one?

I have an old school model 98 as well, i got it back in december of 97. Almost makes me sick that mine almost cost 300 bucks, and you can get them for like 125 now. Its been worth it though, o gun is as durable or as reliable as it. the only problem i had was just last month, the sear spring finally gave out. Anyway, I know the RT will fit the old model 98s, all you have to do is drill a hole in the frame behind the trigger, but i've heard that the bolt sometimes cant keep up with it. the guy at my local shop says he takes off at least half of the RTs he installs on the 98s. I'm pretty sure the e-bolt can fit with a little milling. I know psycho ballistics did it before they sold the design to Tippmann. Email Tippmann, or even psycho ballistics, to see if they still are doing it. Post over at the model 98 owners group, or on the Tippmann forums too. Out of curiosity, whats the rest of your setup?

Yeah, got mine in February 98 for like $230. I got and 18" Boomstick and the Lapco Bigshot, so that's part of why I don't want new clamshells, 'cause the 98 Custom uses different barrels. I have a PsycoBallistics double trigger, Lapco rear velocity adjuster, used to have a pre-BE 12v Rev, but my kid brother thecaveman, or should I say his wife broke the shell. I have a small drop on it and I would run either CO2 or pre-set HPA. I also had a Benchmark expansion chamber. If I get it up and running I want to but the larger drop, my stock, MaxFlo, Warp, and Halo from my Emag on it. I know they used to make a powerfeed fro the 98, but I haven't seen one in a long time.

Pro Team Products and Lapco both make powerfeeds for the model 98. countypaintball.com has them both. i would get the lapco direct feed.

I'd mod your tippmann into a sear tripper... get a friend with a spyder to tell kingman he blew out his spyder noid (("I checked ALL the connections and the little round thing wont click but all the lights are one, and something smells like smoke around the silver round thing")) and then buy a T-board from scenariodreams.com and install the eyes.

All thats left is increasing flow (home job for sure) and lightening internals (delrin bolt, lighten the striker any way you can.

An enterprise well under $100 for sure, but may take some doin.
