    some half related idea

i'm not sure this fits in this place, but i have a VERY stiff slushie straw, and have been shooting wet toiletpaper balls out of it. going further, i have been wondering would a pump (or bolt) actuated air cylinder work as an air source instead of me blowing on the straw? would there be enough pressure to fire the ball... maybe around 10 - 15 meters? and would making a trigger system be a feasible idea? just an idea... and if the cylinder's workable, what materials would be needed for it? was planning this as a grd 11 project (not sure if itd b allowed with a barrel tho, think it fits under firearm bcuz of it, hence not allowed)

there actually is a way to make the "spit ball" be shot out by arod or bolt. i have done this before. all you need is:
-a bike spoke (it fits well in a straw) but bend the end so that the spokes doesnt go flying out
-and a scuba tank or a compressor.
that is pretty much all i used.
I hope that this helped you out with your project.

wow i posted this so long ago.... anyway, the straw bore is very big, i need about half a square of toilet paper to fill the bore up. you'd need a pretty large bundle of spokes to fill it. then weight would be a problem.. and also i have no CA tanks lying around i'd use for this. i'm thinking something along the lines of an airsoft "springer" for this project, but the bore would be huge, so i'm wondering how long of a pump stroke would be needed to create enough of an air supply for it. the have a clip that holds water and toilet paper... and so when you pump it it pulls paper up and rips it, rolls it into a ball and dunks it into the water reserve then loads it to fire.. but then, i'm just crazy and that would take way too long to develop, and for a pointless reason... oh well, maybe i'l do this in tech class....
