    see through mainbody

I had another idea but this one would be cool. Wouldn't it be cool if you could make a see through mainbody for an automag? the only problem is that it would probably have to be plastic and it yould be lighter too if it was plastic. just a thought what do you think ?

it wouldnt be plastic. it would be acrylic or somehting like it. there was a clear cocker made but i forget what the material was actually called.

IIRC it was lexan. The guy who was making them was asked to stop because they were cracking and were safety hazards.

It's been discussed before, but not practical with the forces exerted by the bolt-spring on the body. Heck, even the aluminum ULE bodies have a Stainless steel ring in there for the spring.

I would do it for a blowback just to watch it work.

aside from the point, they would be VERY useful for pumpguns (no more doubleloading!) looks nice though.. how about just making a huge window on the side of the body where the bolt is? rest of the body can be metal. or you could create a metal frame (just a frame, kinda like a wireframe) and then cover that in lexan? the metal would be for structure and the lexan can be for show (function AND form)

I dont think anyone has mentioned the most prominent point of the lexan body yet. The cost of a block to make one lexan body is somewhere around $200 and a PITA to get. My friend and I wanted to make one for a sniper two but the cost of the stock was way more than just doing it from reallly good aluminum. However I'd still love to try if given a chunk.
