    The Spyder pump liiiiives!!!

    Semi setup

    Pump parts

    bolt & striker

    Complete setup, left side

    Complete setup, right side

Got tired of not having a pump to play with so I made my own

    Parts:
aluminum rods from a rifle cleaning kit
small piece of metal to connect the bolt to the pump arm assembly
    pvc pipe connector
3/4 dia spring for pump return
    lotsa time

Take the pvc connector and drill 2 holes on the very end. Cut the aluminum rods to size at the threaded end and SAVE the pieces you took off. Tap the pvc piece and thread the new end of the rods and screw em in. Tap the back of the bolt to accept a screw (I used 8/32 threaded screws since thats what the pump arms were). Fab up a piece of metal with 3 holes in it to connect your pump arms to the bolt.

Next, take your striker and start grinding a channel into it IN FRONT of the old striker hole and be careful to keep the slot as narrow as possible to avoid the spring bending outof the slot. Take that old piece you chopped off the pump arms and slap a cup seal on it and trim it down until its about a quarter of an inch longer than a stock valve pin.

Remove the stock ball detent and striker buffer. Put your new longer valve pin in. Assemble the bolt/striker with the pin in the new slot ya made. Slide the pump arm over the barrel and screw the pump arm assembly to the bolt.
Take the new spring for the pump arm and slide it in behind the bolt and slap the back block on and voila, new spyder pump!

The beauty of this mod is it can still shoot in semi mode again, just take all the parts off and put the detent, old valve pin and striker buffer back in the original hole.

Yes it works as a pump and back in semi mode. I used the same springs in both configurations (hard valve, light or med main). All I had to do to adjust the velocity in the different modes is adjust the reg.

it just fits or you have to dremel out the inside of your hopper

Theres no dremeling involved, both hoppers just slide on. Pump handles not too bad, I want to do something to give it a bit more grip tho.

ahh, i just compared my hopper to my friends and mine is super old, and has a thicker and shorter feedneck, so i just heated it up and slid it over

I want to find a something nicer than a hose clamp, maybe a clamp for a bike seat or something along those lines.

I've been thinking about that, but I don't want the pump handle around the barrel like that. A pump handle from a Sniper looks really good.

I assume the hammer is still blowback? I wonder how hard it would be to mod the valve to eliminate blowback.

Its still a blowback in semi mode and more or less closed bolt in pump.

I had considered going that route and mounting the pump arm on the VA and run the arm down the channel in the body but it involved alot more fabbing and becomes more complex. I used the KISS technique, keep it simple stupid .
