The newest "e-Mag" on the block!

    I've done it!

[cue lightning and thunder here with ominous background music]

    MUHAHAHAHA!

I was originally planning on making the "e-Pneu" mag, that involved a classic mag, cocker ram, cocker LPR, Timmy SOB board, Timmy Solenoid, and whatever grip frameworked, but It turned out to be a bit more expensive than I liked!

So instead, I took a Spyder ESP frame, and just as much if not more work :P and e-Framed my mag!

    Specs are:
    Spyder ESP Frame
    Classic Mag body
    E-Mag valve
    Level 10
    ULT

whew! That was a bit of work.
I still have the cocker parts and Timmy board, so if I ever get the cash, I may resurect the e-pneu frame.

    Pod Monkeys!

Ok how does it perform? Acuracy, velocity consistancy, rof?

lol, what does accuracy and velocity and consistency have to do with installing a new frame? (sorry for sounding like an ***)

Well for one, the noid could not be cycling the marker properly, also with the newfound ROF you have, and using a ult in a classic valve, you could be getting dropoff/recharge/shortstroke/boltstick problems.

But it sounds like it's working fine, nice.

What do you mean by the noid wouldn't be cycling the marker properly?
All it does is trip the sear. If its not cycling properly, then neither will a mech, or an eMag.

As for the valve, thats an e-Mag valve, not a classic valve. Its an RT valve, not classic based.
Besides, the board is capped at 13bps, anyway.

I should have good performance reports in a week. I should be taking it out this or next weekend.

next upgrade will be a T-Board.
I also have to go in and lighten the trigger switch internals.

I think total cost for this type of project could technically run:
$160 for a good mag with classic or non RT-classic valve.
                $45 or so for ULT
$85 or so for the frame.

That comes out to about $290 for a Spyder-Mag.

I've got to mod the trigger switch this weekend, so I'll take a crap load of pictures and do a write up then. Hopefully I'll have it posted somewhere by sunday evening.

Get the T-board, install eyes, install and 50 gram switch, buy ACP slasher trigger, and you have an incredible gun.

                  Note the above is <$100

I'll mod the switch myself for free!

I'm definately thinking of the T-Board.
Eyes are kinda iffy since its got the Level 10 kit, which should lessen chopping itself.
and any way, I think I'd rather get a ULE body kit or a Doc Nickle's Barrel adapter first to that I don't have to drill through both the body AND the barrel to do the eyes.
This is a classic mag body with a twist lock barrel that extends all the way into the breech. Any eye installation would have to go through both body and barrel.

hmm... I like that slasher trigger... I just might get one of them.

I'm going out to play on sunday, so I'll have a performance write up later, sometime next week.

well.. we went out to play... in the snow...
If it weren't for all the barrel breaks from the cold, and my Hopper was on the blink, I'd have a much better thing to say.
But when the paint wasn't breaking later on in the day, and the hopper was cooperating, the thing was friggen awesome!

So it wasn't the 16+bps of the e-blade, BKO, Timmy, or Shocker I used to have, but 13bps was pretty good for a start. The thing functioned flawlessly.
No problems were seen at all.

Unfortunately I slipped in the snow, fell flat on my face, and broke the feed elbow, which pretty much broght the Spyder-Mag's day to an end.
But it was a great day. No shootdown, no problems wih the sear, frame, or bolt.

It was as a marker should be. Small and fast. Turn it on, and fire.
