    Gun-consept 'Mag Style'

After spending a long time admiring the simplicity that makes a Mag work and trying to think of a way to improve on design, l came up with an idea that could work. It's not quite teh same but beares enough resemblence it could be called a Mag.

I don't have a cad program but I'll try to explain it as simple and complete as posible. Maybe I'll plague you all with a beutiful MS Paint drawing later.

Loking at the mag design the only limiting factor in the ROF i could find is teh bolt cycle since the air used to fire the ball is also used to move teh bolt theres that soft point when the air escapes the power tube and the spring returns teh bolt. So the idea is how to keeping the General Mag style, but get the bolt to cycle independandly of the air used to shoot the ball.

Basic idea is to make the bolt one big solynoid. you put a magnet(s) in stem of the bolt or more likely outer ring, then have the power tube of the valve have an integrated wire coil. thus the bolt would cycle fowrad with electricity being applied to teh coil in the power-tube and return vwith a reverse polarity. It would still keep a return spring, although one much lighter than current there so there wouldn't need to be a constant current on the coil to keep the bolt in the return position. Depending on design factors teh Stem of the bolt could either be kept solid or hollowed out to allow free air movement through the bolt.

The on/off assebly would simply be acuated in reverse, by a selynoid conected directly to teh on/off pin. when the bolt is in the return position, the on/off will be off, then as it cycles fowarad it will on for (Dwell) time allowing the air to travel directly around/through the bolt to the ball.

Then switch the regulator from high pressure to low add a micro switch some silicone and a little coding for timing and VWALA! a new marker Mag Style.

Oh yeah and with no foraward pressure on the bolt in the rest position theres no sear either.

tell me how bad you want and animation and i might make a quick one

this could work but you would have to still have a spring or nothing would push back the bolt after the soleniod pulled it forward

one soleniod is to move the bolt (the bolt is part of it)
the other solenoid is just to trip the x valve for a certain amount of time

the first problem i see is that it would require TREMENDOUS amounts of volts to move the bolt forward and it would make the mag a lot wider

it could work. if i were you i would have a ram move the bolt like a cocker, but thats just my opinion -like a cocker with a xvalve

The idea is to incorperate the wire coil into the power-tube of the Valve thus allowing you to use the standard mag bodies. Since the pwer tube no longer holds high presure air it can be milled out a lot to make room for the coil, And as far as a lot of power, I think the standard E-mag battery would be plenty big to supply a lot of power.

Also the Bolt could be made much lighter than it currently is since again far less presure being applied to it. Possible make it out of delerin or if it reseaves to much wear Shown Delerin bolt in standard Mag
