    Blimp camera

You know how when people film paintball games, it's hard to see exactly what's going on where, and how the timing can be funny, how you can't see really where people are shooting, etc.?
What if you made some kind of blimp camera that you could hover over the field to get a good birds-eye view of the whole thing?
Here's where 'the workshop" comes in.
I realize it would drift a whole lot if it was just freefloating, and also if it was simply roped to the ground.
Do you think it would be possible to maybe have inflatable tethers that became rigid when air was pumped into them? Or what if an air tube was run through one of the rope tethers, so when the blimp was in position you could fill it with more helium and expand it so that it would pull the ropes really tight and be able to withstand moderate wind? I dunno. But someone should prototype one and we can all fix it together

Like anything it can be done, but I think your going to an extreme. You would never get it to be stable because it has too many degrees of movement. I think your time would be better spent addapting a pen camera to your mask.

mask camera would indeed be sweet.

A blimp cam might work, but I'm thinking more like a weather ballon tethered 3 ways. If it's not too windy and the cords don't stretch that might work.

I have always thought cameras looking downward over key bunkers would be very useful for making calls.

in football games nowadays, they have cameras, i forget what there called, but they are suspended by wires, on rails on either end, so that they can slide the wires (cam attached) left/right, and up/down the field

When you think about it, the sizes of the fields dont differ that much, so i think it would work, jsut would take some time, money for all the rails and brackets, wires, camera etc..

I would agree with the cable camera as well and for that matter, if the camera is dedicated to a field, one might just set it atop a tall post somewhere in the middle of the field.
