    lightest possible mag?

i was wondering if anyone could tell me the exact weight of all components needed to assemble the lightest automag possible. including:

    body: ule
    bolt: superbolt?
    valve: x valve
    on/off: ult?
    rail: alpha?
    trigger frame (2 finger): ripper?
    front grip/ gas thru: ?
    barrel: jj ceramic?
    drop forward: ?
    hpa tank: ?

im sorry if this thread isn't original, i couldn't find it when i did a search.
thanks in advance for all of your help.

If you really want to get light you can make certain parts out of poured plastic (resin cast), such as the body raile and the trigger frame.

Well, my mag currently weighs 2lbs 4Oz...

it has the following (top to bottom)

      Rogue Strangler Feed Neck
      ULE Body
      X-Valve & Lvl 10
      Empire Barrel system
      Rogue Milled RTP Rail
      Rogue Snatch Grip
      Rogue Chimera Frame
      Rogue ViperBlade Trigger
      CP Razor Drop
      CP On/Off ASA with Purge

Apparently after a chat with Rogue, if I got another Rail, I could knock another xouple of ounces off the total....

and people say that mags are heavy!!

please forgive the AWFUL quality of the pic (I must get a better camera!)

Cheers, she's cost a lot and needs a bit of work on her still - I spent all day yesterday cutting the IR3 grips.... not a task to be taken lightly when you don't realise there is a big plastic pannel hidden in the soft rubber

so after about 3 hours with a scalpel, I was finally able to partially stealth my macro line through the the Chimera frame, looks sweet and I don't catch the line on anything now!

just makes taking the valve out a little more tricky (I have to remove my drop from the frame and slide the macro up to get it out, but it's all gravy!!

just need some more air now

i too know the frustration of cutting grips. i had to get the intelli wire into a comfy position. but if you think cutting grips is bad, try milling your own classic rail alpha style. i almost trashed it twice. i do think that agd should revisit the internal airl ine idea (a la automag rt).
the damn thin is forever an annoyance. by the way, what was your total cost?

              total cost....

              hmmm....

              ULE body - $60
              Chimera Frame - $120
              X-Valve & Lvl10 - $130
              ULT - $40
              Snatch Grip - $30
              Empire Barrel Kit - $80
              CP Drop and on/off - $70
              ULE Rail - $30

so... about $510 + other bits like the macro connectors..
so all in all about $530ish

but it was definately keeping up with all the joneses @ the walkon yesterday!
I finally didn't feel out shot by shockers, e-bladed cockers or Angels.

just a shame it was about 30F all day and the paint was shattering in the barrel - no matter what I tried...

oh and it was varying by about +/- 5fps all day (which was quite good!)

if you want the lightest possible mag, Try using smaller barrels, smaller hoppers, and run it on Remote.

arent most guns weighed w/o drop hopper or barrel

so an alpha rail weighs 2.1
                    ule body from rogue=3.9
                    xvalve=? about a pound
stock single trigger is probably like 3 ounces and can be cut further
add it up and u get 25 ounces or 1lb 9 oz

of course I don't know how much the xvalve weighs. Does anyone have any idea what it is?
Now if the xmag weight 2 and 1/2 lbs we've made big progress minus the speed
and the shocker is 1lb 14 oz and an alias timmy is 1.4 lbs w/ all electronics and stuff. These guns must have paper thin walls! But the mag is definately one of if not the lightest gun around...potentially
Shocker=spyder that shoots out it's butt

                    -Minimag w/ lvl10 and ult
                    black ule body
                    black blade intelli
                    fatty aci foregrip
                    12" dye ultralite

Here's what I'd bet would be lightest

                      body: Rogue Exile Body
bolt: L10 bolt... The delrin superbolts are lighter, but not by much at all. The weight loss isnt worth the lack of antichop and all the problems I've heard they had.
                      valve: x valve
                      on/off: ult
                      rail: Alpha
trigger frame (2 finger): AGD Carbon Stock frame. Dont gut it out; most of its durability comes from the internal structure. I've seen a few people make plastic or metal trigger guards for them aswell as on blazers and put a 2x trigger on. With triggerstops, it wouldn't be bad at all. Still, I'd suggest keeping the one you have
front grip/ gas thru: I'd say a gadget grip with the barrel plug taken out of it.
barrel: I think stiffi is the lightest. Not sure
                      drop forward: Adds weight
hpa tank: 45/45 crossfire is good.

The thing with weight is that lightest is not best. Balance is. If your marker weighs 1lb but it backheavy, its no good. I had a bit on foregrips, but I saw your hand in the other thread. I'd say wrap whatever you hold it with (bottom of the rail or back of barrel probably) with some foam for comfort

the front of my chimera is just the right size for me to hold on. It also stops me waving my elbow out on the side too

the drop, on/off and barrel come to about 6 to 8 Oz

so that makes it under 2Lbs in total for the gun....

but the balance on it is excellent, with (or without) paint, it balances right at the back of the grip and is perfectly horizontal
