    My Little Scenario Project

    Hi guys....

as has been seen in another thread, I'm converting one of my "spare" mags into a P-90 (ready for this septembers "stargate" game in the UK)

I thought I'd add some foto's for you all to have a little look @ what I was doing (and make my templates available for everyone to use)

    Right....

    Step One...

I took my mag with a classic frame (for ease and what I had laying about) and an old 45 grip frame,

I removed the grips and cut down the frame to just below the screw holes (pic 1)

    Step Two

I had a bright idea about using a modular bit of battoning as the internal basis of the mod - but quickly realised it was a crappy idea! (pic 2)

so I cut everything out of some lightweight plywood - it's not that heavy! most of the weight is from the steel mag!

more pics to come as I progress in the project

Total time so far - 2 hours-ish (not including research time and including tea breaks!)

I'll post pictures of my 'scenario' mag project after classes today. Kinda funny but your cut grip looks pretty similar to mine

The version I am working on is a P90, so it'll be very similar to yours but instead of wood I used a gutted/modified airsoft gun.

If your going for look and functionality (like me) the feed system is the hard part. Right now I am working on a system of cut 10 round tubes, and hopefully will score a nice spring to push the balls throughout it.

Also I caved and used a remote for the air system. I was hoping to fit a tank in the stock but would have to of cut slits int he stock for it to fit, which I didn't really want to do.

As far as building time, i haven't really been keeping track. Including research, failing attempts (very time consuming failures i might add) I'm probably on the upwards of 20ish hours.

    EDIT:

actually here are the older pics of it that I posted, it has changed slightly. I'll get pics of internals later.

      that's pretty sweet....

I have tried to do other similar mods using a spyder before, but I became un-enthused and ther was sooo much internal plastic removal....

I might pick it up again, or I might just resort to converting my e-spyder to an M4 clone (for fun

The only problem I find with air soft kits is the strength of the plastic - I'd rather build from scratch....

I got one hell of a lot of sanding to do - I have just finished Jigsawing out the "outside" sections of the housing (including the grips) I'll have to find my belt sander to try and take the edges off.
I also have to drill and saw the trigger holes (let alone sand them) on the outside too....

but it's late here and the neighbours get ratty if I'm using power tools late in the evening!

Made the 2 sie pannels today and spent the day cutting and sanding....

        I think it's looking good...

while it's not 100% accurate, I think it's not too far out....

the bit @ the back I am debating to cut off totally and use my air system on it instead of CO2 (also means I can use the X-Valve with ULT and Lvl10 too!) what do you all think on that?

also need to find a pipe cutter to trim that barrel down a bit!

more sanding is required right now (a lot more) followed by some varnishing and painting

not entirely sure yet, but I might stick an "extra" panel up and over the valve, not sure on that yet.....

I actually dremeled a stock minimag barrel down. Also cut the little angled tip and drilled the holes for the flash suppressor (or whatever).

          I'll borrow a camera soon.

Looks pretty good undescriptive. Can't wait to see finished pics, when you get all the sharp edges sanded and shaped.

it's all having to be hand sanded...

I don't have a belt sander and the electric orbital sander I have it crap beyond belief!

I'm going to go with the extra panels and a "flat top" section too it too.... I think

looks good. once you get it done, you should work out a way t make it electro pneumatic, so it wil have realistic firemodes(im serious). you could put some kind of breakover mechanism to make the trigger feel realistic to

Problem is, it wouldn't be legal here in the UK....

                  but it would be cool....

still debating on wether to cut the trailing end off and using air....
will have to wait on that one for a bit still...

I chopped the barrel down a little today, and I started on the feedneck of the body, but I had a slight body malfunction (as you can see on the pic)

just as well I had a spare!

the extra pannels will be cut and sorted tomorrow.....

got to draw up some plans for them first!

                    *edit*

forgot to say... total weight (as it is in the pic right now) is 3Lbs 6Oz

                    not too bad really!

has anyone thought to do this mod with an airsoft P-90 and the guts of a spyder E-frame.

you could then make it a true bullpup.

I did sort of think of that before, BUT I don't have the cash to drop on a decent sturdy Airsoft P-90....

so far the cost of this gun is about $15 (bolts, woodfiller and sandpaper)

everything else I had laying about...

I have a "spare" e-spyder and an airsoft MP5 which I shall be trying to make fit, but I really can't be bothered with all the extra fiddling about that would be required!
