You also should take into consideration the fact that you are forcing a relatively large amount of air into a small hole with a tube connected. The heat created will cause the air to expand, and the cilender that the air is in would have to be pressure tested as well to make sure that it can withstand the expansions of the gases.

What would be nice is if someone would build and sell one to us..
I could use one.
There has been one for sell on ebay for around 450, I'm half tempted to get one.
But i would fell better buying one from AGD or simular..Jim "Moose" Moosmann

Few quick facts and Warnings, I guess this makes a Hypicritical post since i'll be helping you do this and telling you dear god stop before you start.
Typicaly i'm all for inventive thinking and new ideas this is just not something "just anybody" should get into.
#1. and most important as a Ref at a field that actualy understands teh forces and under workings of Paintball equipment it really is a very scary sport we play, with the lack of common sense some players show. For Example a that neat little tank with a "messly" 3K PSI you hold under your arm is Bomb if the air decided it didn't like staying there, And remove half of your chest with it.
Kock the Valve off a full tank and it can very easily go through a brick wall after leaving a hole in your friend. So yes Hydro dates are important and no it's not ok if your tank only unscrews from the valve when it's empty. (And yes thats a quote)
Thats teh Dear god stop this before you kill yourself part,
#2 the factoid part of this post, after watching the compressor tech work on our compressor when it went down got a quick peack into the insides of one, Iin a 4 stage scuba compressor the final stage is the diameter of about a pencil, and that thing is powered by a direct connection to the Electric grid, so Persepective, fill 68 Cubic Inches by pushing maybe 3-4 cubic inches each time. and Remember what PSI stands for (Pounds per square inch), so if you had a 1 square inch piston it would take 3 thousands pounds of force to add anymore preasure to the system,
So you go for, and it i'll spend the 4 bucks and get it filled somewhere taht knows what there doing.
#3 For the hydrsulics part, yes you can get hydraulic rams taht could push forces strong enough to make it more realistic, A jack that can lift 15 tons is fairly common in some industres and it's not all that big either (only weigh in with probably 100lbs of near solid Steel), and they make bigger ones. However Hydaulic rams of this strength are slow, you might get it to cycle out and back in 40-60 sec.
#4 or you could save yourself.............And us the pain of hearing stories of unfortuante paintbal realted Disaters and just go get Professonaly built Safty inspected, Real compressor..Last edited by Aleis; 06-11-2005, 10:36 PM.Guns

Well I was actually thinking about making one out of some lawnmower and weedeater engines I have sitting around, but am not at all sure what the pressures get to inside there. I would think it could handle the pressures, but I'm just plain not sure. Anybody know how much the heads of some weedeaters and lawnmowers can take?

Nope... never really pursued it, it was just an idea floating around in my head at the time. Soon afterwards though we started farming an additional 425 acres of land and I ran out of time for paintball.Originally posted by ScatterPlotEver get anything done on it?
Maybe someday after my billion and one current projects are done!

Anyone know the costs of a booster and the required tanks?Originally posted by ScatterPlotWe know- the point was to make one, not buy one
It's probably pretty stupid buying through Nitroduck IMO. Find a local Haskel representative instead.
In the case of the proposed Nitroduck system, you'd require a good shop compressor, 3000psi storage tanks, and 6000psi storage.
What would the total cost be?

This booster looks really tempting to get. Its isn't thousands, and it runs off 100 psi shop air.
Has anyone ever seen or used this booster.
