    Piranha-Mag Completed

I got a good deal on some semi only electronic trigger frames that was made for a piranha. After reading the threads on the spydermag, I decided to go with the solenoid firing backwards towards the sear. I had to do a lot of modifying to the frame, but I did a lot more then I needed because I had to go by trial and error. You do have to have a ult for this to work, like everyone else has said, the solenoid isn't strong enough to push the sear with the stock on/off assy. I will be more then happy to answer any questions, and I will try to get a video up, but cant make no promises. The pictures arent real clear, but all I have is my camera phone.

added 7/7/05 Here is a video of the gun in action:

So, did you do much different than any one else with their spydermags?

I used the rt pro sear, was just holding the am/mm sear just for the picture. I don't think I did anything really diffrent (yet). I have only read the one thread about the spyder mag. I did add a spring behind the sear, but it was only to return the sear for testing without air. I don't see how it would improve anything. I just wanted to post what I did

I seen that comin, and im working on it..

warbeak2099, Dwell doesnt seem to be a problem, I shot 1000 rounds threw it the other day and never once had a problem. I dont have the fastest fingers in the world, but I am shooting quite a bit faster with this frame then I did with my intelliframe with the ult.

The problem with too low of a dwell might be excessive bolt/sear wear. I have been using a 15 ms dwell, which seems to work fine, but others have needed 20+ ms dwell to get rid of wear issues.

Are you using the spyder sear or just the agd sear? I havnt noticed any new wear on the sear. There is a little wear on the back of the sear, oposite from the solenoid. Its there from my own fault though, I didnt dremel enough metal out so it was hitting a little when I first tested it. I will keep you updated on the wear, but the sear seems to being pushed all the way. The dwell isnt adjustable on this frame, and I dont have a clue what it is set to on the M3 frame. I do have a new ESP frame on its way though and I cant wait to start grinding on it.

Well after reading a review, the company that makes the frame, M3, produces the Black Draguns. It was made for any spyder clone, most parts are interchangable anyway, but the box that it came in does say piranha on it so thats what im going with. Here is a quote from the website "This particular model is designed to fit Kingman Spyders and direct clones." Here is a review of the frame. http://www.pukindogspaintball.com/reviews/REV4.htm

I finaly got around to making a video, it is fairly big and I did post it in the paintball talk forums, but thought it would be long here as well, and yes I do have slow fingers. I have my own shot pattern I use in games and never walk in a game so I dont practice it much.
