    New Gun Idea

Haven't posted in a while but heres an idea i just had like 3 days ago and just rembered this site. You would have the bolt and the back of the bolt would be a rod which could connect to a piston to cycle. You would use a female stabilizer which the macroline will go up into the gripframe to a air chamber which will have a hole on top. The bolt when fired will go foward and the bottom hole in it would go over the airchamber hole and allow air to rush throug the bolt up to the ball and propel it and then it will recock to the positionwhere the front of the bolt will stop airflow to the bolt. A oring and another o-ring will stop air from leaking foward or backward. I'll make a MS paint pick as soon as possible until then post feedback -

velocity is controlled by the pressure of the air in the dump chamber. kind of like a mag. what you are proposing is very similar to the spool valve/ blow forward idea used in ions. but instead of having the rod at the back of the bolt act as the on /off and the air source from the rear you would use something like the front half of a timmy bolt stuck on the end of a ram and just have the bolt body act as your on/ off. you might lose alot of gas that way and i would say that this seems like a step backward from the spool valve.

it would be pretty compact though. nifty idea.
keep working it, you may be on to something.

        MS Paint Pic

The Electronics if i would include them would be in the front grip. But I am leaning toward mechanical in whihc case I will make some big changes to the rear of the bolt.
I have some questions to. About how fast can a spring cycle and which is heavier delrin or carbon fiber

Guess what? per volume, carbon Fiber is heavier.

            Delrin: 0.8oz/in^3
            CF: 0.93oz/in^3

            out!

I wonder if the cf weight rating also includes the resin?

CF isn't much heavier than delrin but its a crapload stronger. If you need a self lubricating material go with delrin. If you need a material thats stronger and more rigid than steel use CF.
