First time i seen this post... first thing came to mind... the marker blowing up next to my head... LOL i like to pick plastic out of my brain :P

it sounds like a cool idea but just the slamming of the bolt and air pressure just makes me afriad of this... maybe a level 10 and 1 inch thick body i might think twice

The worst that happens is that the bolt and all wears, and it leaks a lot and probably some bolt stick. Lotsa wear and all, but remember- THE BODY IS NOT HOLDING IN ANY AIR PRESSURE. Remember that!

dont tell me about the downfalls of silencers, i know all too well their advantages and disadvantages, im just asking if theres still a market for them.

yeah ive seen a silencer that works perfect....
quiet and very accurate... but u have to build a whole barrel for this to work...
friend and i designed it and he had it machined and it was really nice...

BOA even made one too... even tho atf or someone told them they cant make this anymore
too bad they went out of biz, they had great barrels and u can have them custom made for cheap out of anything u wanted

well true wasnt really thinking at the moment... had a few
but i dont think it would stay clear long tho. insert would be needed that also held the barrel in place...

i dont plan on putting metal anywhere in it, the only point i can think tha would have problems would be where the inside of the tube gets much smaller, where the spring rests/the bolt goes through. the first body i make is going to be to lesser thicknesses, but if it ends up wearing and having problems, i plan to compensate by making that point thicker and spacing where the barrel mates up out another 1/4-1/2 in -IF NECESSARY-. just wish me luck boys.

If you don't put in a metal insert of some sort, I doubt you'll get through a case before it breaks.

Beefing up the bolt/spring stop will screw with tolerances and give you blow back due to the bolt stopping 1/4-1/2" sooner.

cheddar, if this works, hell yeah i'd be interested. couple of things though-

first, you might wanna go with lexan, its a bit stronger
second, as far as the name, "Autovision Body"
