Installing ball detents on my SL-68 II

I want to keep the balls from rolling down the barrel. A lot of times a ball will roll down partly, and the next ball in teh feedneck will come in and get pinched when I push the pump arm (and subsequently the bolt as well) forward.

Only problem is, the barrel sits into the marker about 2"

I was thinking of drillling holes and threads for spyder or piranha detents, but then I decided the small nubs wouldn't make it through the some 1/4" of aluminum between where the ball is and the outside of the marker.

Then I remembered someone mentioning somethign about hot glue or superglue...

Any ideas on how to combat this?

You could try something similar to the ring detents that you can get for phantoms.

      barrel

      Buy a new barrel.

I have a Sl-68 2 and i have never had this problem with balls rolling out or even rolling into the barrel.

I have the stock barrel and also the Special sniper barrel and never had this problem with both.

BTW the special sniper barrel does help with some noise but its even more accurate! (tighter bore)

One of my guys had a similar issue with his. My solution was simple. I took the barrel out, using a center punch and hammer, I put a small dimple at the end of the barrel (the part that goes into the gun). It acts like a ball detent by not letting the paintball roll forward.

You just have to watch not to make the dimple too tall, or it will be tough on the balls when theygo past it. One time I made one too big, and I just filed it down with a little emery cloth.

Perhaps a small dot of nail polish just inside the barrel or breach just ahead of where the ball sits, and build it up just enough and as it wears, just add more.
