Hi Guys,
I recently saw a fellow player with a 30Gram tank from RAP4.
It's a Miniature co2 tank with an ASA thread and an on/off that fits into the stock of the RAP4 rifles. This little 1.5" by 6.5" beauty gave me fifty shots on my vertASA Minimag.
This started me to thinking, since all my play is pistol primary, I might as well have exactly what I want.
I put over 15,000 rounds through a cheapo ZeusG2 last year, while my minimag and procarbine collected dust! It started out as a phase, but where I play at Hell Survivors Field in Pinkney, MI, is perfect for pistol play against semis(lots of cover)....
I thought of just patching a micromag together into a frankenmag with the 30G tank or just getting a Sydarm, but I love the work Ken, a local Airsmith(K&P Customs), does, the Mag's have never worked well with 12g's and I must admit, I hate the look of stacked tubes in the sydarms or the sheridan based strokers.
I love my P68SC and my Minimag because they shoot so well, but to someone who grew up loving Colt's 1911s, tubes are just plain ugly. I wanted a flat sided gun with a square top.
The flat top, I know from my zeus helps ease loading in play and rules over the roundtops for that reason.
So I'm having a pistol Mag made that will be set up like this:
Essentially the same thing that Pro-Team Products did with the Micromag, except with a ten-round spring fed magazine, body and barrel all made from one piece.
A. minimag Valve/Reg with guage on side and tapped on top for a reg.
B. palmer Sideline regulator(inlet at rear).
C. the milled body/magazine/barrel
D. Okay I forgot to put the D on there. It was supposed to mark the hardline.
E. Standard minimag rail.
F. Forward pointing ASA for the RAP4 30 gram tank. The tank has a 1.5" diameter and will screw in from the direction of the arrow. it will sit under the barrel like a TAC-Light.
G. standard minimag grip.
In the foreview that shows the outline I'm looking for, Tube #2 is to be the magazine, tube#1 is to be the barrel.
The magazine will have a front load, like this zeus magazine:

The PTP Micromag had an air through rail, but I think the hardline outside will protect the guage from my holster. I holster and unholster alot during games(another strike against the palmer-stroker types, as the LPR and ram take a beating from the holster).
The Palmer reg will take up what would otherwise be goofy looking empty space and gives me the triple advantage of two regs, better weight distribution and a higher angle on the hardline.
Please forgive my crude drawing!
Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? Should I skip the guage on the side? If I did I could turn the regulator around and have it piped out the side(shorter but more vertical).
