    making of a grenade launcher

ok so i am going to make a grenade launcher to launch whatever...

now the thing that i dont know how to do is make it so i can just take air from the tank and not have to put it in a chamber and seal it. my design is this so far...

there will be a co2 tank attached to a metal chamber with an on/off inbetween. after the chamber is the barrel, connected with another on/off. there is a gauge in the chamber to see how much air i need to put in. i will turn the on/off from the tank to the on position (probably not all the way, only so it can eek through) and then when it comes to a good psi i will cut of that and now i have xxx psi in the chamber. the barrel will be loaded and all i have to do is turn the other on/off (ball valve or something) to the on position quickly. this will work, but it wouldnt be able to gas up fast enough.

i could use a electronic valve (from home depot or something) so i can just use a switch for the valve inbetween the chamber and barrel to increrase speed, but i would rather just get rid of the chamber... any idea how i can do this?

ill get a diagram up later.

I don't think the gas will flow out of the tank fast enough to do this. I tried with a 12-gram and it did not. Why are you worried about time anyway, loading will take enough time as it is, what does 10 more seconds mean anyway?

      try an air cannon
      here is what you do

go to home depo and buy
-3 ft 6 inchs of 2in" pvc pipe
      -a 2in" end cap
      -a 2 inch ball valve
      -2 st of 1 1/2 inch pvc
      -a 2 inch pipe converter to a 1 1/2inch pipe
      -and a bike wheel tube

      the chamber
      step 1
when you get the bike tire tube cut off the part of the tube where you inflate it (make sure you reinforced rubber thats around it off to)
      step 2
drill a hole in the center of the end cap the size of the inflation spicket and glue it in with the purple pvc glue
      step 3
cut the 2 inch pipe at the 3 foot mark leaving 6 inches. (dont throw it away)
after cutting the pipe glue the ball valve on to the 3 foot pipe
      step 4
now glue every thing together with the clear pvc glue. the end cap with the inflation spkit, the 3 foot pipe with the ball valve on it
(you have know made your chamber/ let it sit for about 24 -36 hours)

      the barrel
      step 5
with the remaining 2 inch pipe glue (with the purpel stuff) the 6 inch pipe to the conector
      step 6
dont glue i repeat dont glue the 2 foot 1 1/2 inch pipe in to the converter.
just drill .8mm holes on one in to quite it down a little

once you have everything put to gether you can be creative on things to shoot. rather it be chunks of potato or tomato (lol) or what a friemd and i did we used rebar dal rods

to air it up find a bike pump and put it onto the inflation spikit (like one a bike) and aire it up to 150 - 200 psi (dont worrie it wont blow)

have fun and dont shoot it at ne body i still have a scar on my hand from a smaller one

NOT ALL PVC PIPE IS SAFE TO USE!!!!!NOT ALL PVC PIPE IS SAFE TO USE

Make sure the pipe and glue(cement) is rated for pressure most pvc is what they call dwv(drain, waste and vent) and can burt under high pressure. get schld 40 pipe and make sure it is rated for pressure. Be safe air cannnons can be alot of fun. My favorite one i made shot a golf ball with a news paper wading over 400 yards

the pvc plumbing pipe that they sell at all home depo's is tested to over 500 psi idk about lows or places like that but the pipe they sell at home depo is safe

get the white pipe. grey is for electrical stuff, i think... but white is for water, and in this case, high pressure air.

yea all i wanted to shoot was the bottle... i didnt know the dowell rod was in there. then the car alarm went off. that was kind funny looking back on it.

i know! i did it when i was younger maybe...13. any way, I took three cambles soup cans duct taped them together, punchured a hole in the back can that still had a bottom sprayed some lighter fluid or something flamable and bang sent all sorts of stuff flying. it was great. soooo you could tape this to the bottom of your gun, riggght?
