    New Gun Design

    Here ya go: http://www.photopaintball.com/design2.gif

    Pull trigger
Air from a fabco MSV-1 3 way (small valve)
actuates a Clippard 2012 Air pilot 3 way valve (large valve)
Air chamber in the back of the gun exhausts to fire paintball
Lack of pressure causes bolt to go back via spring (green)
As trigger is held the valve does not let in more air and the bolt stays back (like a cocker)
    Trigger is released
Air from MSV-1 3 way exhausts (small valve)
Clippard 2012 opens and lets air fill chamber
Pressure in chamber pushes bolt forward

    Closed Bolt
    Mechanical
Simple -2 valves, flow control, about 4 gun o-rings, a bolt, a spring, body, and some fittings...
Air is supplied by a Rock Regulator
    Low operating pressure
Flow control and Chamber size are both adjustable for fine tuning and consistency
Could be made out of already existing parts

Prototype is on its way! -I've been asking a lot of questions about air flow and such but I really dont know what I am doing. It may take a while for me to get to because I have another project I am working on that is TOP SECRET. Ill give you a hint though, it has eight hydrogen and autococker parts

Edit: This is simmilar to the EPIC but simpler and bolt sytle

Gotta give you props for trying something new. Not many people do. And the people that do either make it big, or dont. Look at AGD, they tried a new thing with HPA, and now every tournament player uses it. Im excited to see it.

either a phantom or a sheridan because they can be stripped and just have a hollow body and a 1/8inch port left over

If you talk to Mike at CCI, he may be willing to help you out. No promises of course.

            Thats a good idea.

I wasnt looking forward to spending 300 dollars for one so mabey I can just get a body and the bolt.

I was looking at the cci site and it seems it may be more efficient for me to buy the body and valve assembly seprately now as parts. Then I can get luke or someone who can to custom mill me a delrin bolt. I will ask about the size of the phantoms bore.

I had made something like that a while back. Mine was open bolt though. If putfile was working I'd upload it.

EDIT: I put it up on Darkside. It might still be "optimizing" but here's the link.

I just drew it in paint and made a short video of it. I never made a actual prototype.

Ive decided I will make a prototype gun with two 2way valves. This will be the same internals as the Epic I know, but the function will be simmilar. I will be able to use an autococker this way. I will start out with a sniper and if it is successful I will get pneumatics.

Isn't this basically a simplified ION? No, offense.

no its not, an ion has an open 3 way valve which exhausts and allows the bolt to move forward

my gun uses pressure to move the bolt forward then releases the pressure to fire

so yes, my gun is a simpler cheaper more reliable closed bolt ion

where does the air come from to actually fire the ball

when the 3 way (normally open) is at rest it is feeding air into a dump chamber.

when the 3 way actuates it exhausts this air to the ball

only problem i can see would be flow issues.

maybe if you made the "Clippard 2012 Air pilot 3 way valve (large valve)"

directly underneath the bolt, and had it empty up through the bolt.

I think that it's generally good to have a burst chamber as close to the paintball as possible.
