    Ram assembly in a cocker??

I was sitting around today, and I started to brain storm on the topic of cockers. This being said, im not 100% familiar with the eclipse e2 frames, but im assuming it contains two solenoids, one for the sear, 2nd for the 3 way activation. My thought is would it be possible to remove the IVG,springs, and hammer out of the lower tube on a cocker, install a ram assembly(like an angels), use the solenoid usually made for the sear, use it to activate the ram instead of dropping a sear and then use the 3 way solenoid solely for just moving the bolt to reload a ball?? So therefor your shooting a fully electro closed bolt marker and not a hybrid. Im working on the idea more and more, but id like some help on if the idea is possible, i really dont see why it wouldnt be...any help and or ideas would be great, thanks guys!

You mean have the valve opened by a pneumatic ram like on a Timmy?

Exactly, but keep the design as a closed bolt design... I didnt think it would be some mass production deal, but would be a neat side project to try to work on. Just want some help/ideas on it, and this is the best place around to ask...so i did

I already beat you to it.

Replace the mQ valve with the ram and you have a gun that would be comparable to what you're talking about. I chose to use the mQ because it has less kick, the only real kick would be the ram and bolt which you see I have chopped down to the minimum.

Instead of using a E-blade I would choose to use a timmy frame because it has the pneumatic noid in the grip frame making the outside apperance smaller.

Anomoly40- My design and idea on it is slightly different, I dont want anything to be external. The ram assembly is going to be internal, along with the solenoid used to operate the ram. I like the program you used to show an image, maybe you could send me a PM, we could swap some ideas and see what we can come up with.

I put the ram on the top tube that I would have hacked off because it would take weight away since there would be less bolt and less ram rod. On the bottom tube I have a mQ valve that would take up most of the space in there, not to mention running 3 tubes through the spacer. I think it would be less kick because less moving mass, and really light like a mini-cocker. I WILL make it someday...

Well you might as well just link the second ram in the gun to the bolt and then you save the trouble/expenses of having 2 solenoid valves and you dont have to worry about the front block, not to mention it would be alot smaller.

Why is closed bolt so important to you?

personman- Closed bolt isnt soo important to me. I have a design/idea for something Id like to try to build just to test it out...no more no less....just a project and was hoping for some input/help thats all.

Anomoly40-I like the idea you have, mine does differ slightly, maybe one day we can both get a prototype of our ideas up and get them running.
