Im rebuilding my old tippmann 68 carbine and was wondering if I could change the bolt so that I dont need rope seals and can use a normal one.

If I recall correctly, tippmann was offering to change your old valve with the rope seals to one of the newer CVX valves. This was like 7 or 8 years ago though, I doubt they even have parts in stock anymore. I sent my 68 in and they changed the valve, replaced the bolts, and sent it back, all within a week. I'd say call tippmann and talk to someone there.
