    The Firefighter Mag

Okay its time to Mod my old mag and after seeing the episode of American Chopper and the FireFighter Bike. I pretty much would like the polished stainless to stay the same which is the Barrel, Sight rail, and Classic valve. but the power feed body Vert ASA Foregrip and Benchmark Double trigger Frame to be engine red. The rail white. the one thing I don't know what to do is with cradle for color. This are my local fire department colors, also my Father just retired from 33 years of fire service and I'd think it just be cool to see.

First I need to know what kind of "paint" to use and where to send them off to.

Second I need to know if I can send them a design to make custom black grips with the Firefighter badge inlaid into them.

Edit - Third to take my current 47/3K and make it look like a mini Scott Air Tank.
    Thanks

you could have the body, fore grip, and frame powder coated, just like they have done to frames and wheels...

That is a great idea, I cant belive I havnt thought of it before. For the red colors, I would simply get a red ULE body, but you could have the powerfeed body powder coated. The white rail will be hard to do, Annodizing is out of the question, but you might be able to have it powder coated.

As for your tank, I would suggest selling your tank and look into the crossfire 45/4500 wrapped tanks, they are white and look similar to the composites we used at my station.

Also by "firefighter badge" are you talking about an actual badge or the maltese cross?

The drop, do a flame drop, chrome, and cut diamond plate covers for it.

Nice idea on the tank. Another thing would be get a yellow tank cover and sew a scott or MSA emblem on it. Contact either company ant tell them what your doing, they would probobly give them to you.

The color you can get from many manufacturers. The fire bike on american chopper was powder coated, and you may want that done or annodizied would be better. The color is called fire engine red, and you MAY be able to get some from companies.

What fire engine manufacturers did your dad's service use? Such as e-one, american lafrance, etc...
You may call them and tell then your building a tribute gun to him, they may want to get involved with it. Worth a shot.

Keep us updated, I love this idea.

Sry its a cross but don't want it to be that big

Pewaukee uses the Scott systems and are all yellow good idea to contact the company and see what shade of yellow it is.

I would like to ULE it but I like it cause this thing is haevy like a fire truck. especially with so much SS on it already.

The flame drop foward would be a cool idea if I was going with (fire fighter know this saying) "find them hot, leave them wet." would be cool to get a small truck number vinyl to put on a hopper or the rail or something. Sry not really puting to much money in it as upgrades its pretty much at its max with out major upgrades I.E X-valve, ULE, E- frame.

He was the Division Cheif of Apparatus for 4 yrs on the dept before retirement, a Station Capt. prior all the way to just a grunt. The trucks used are listed in there stations http://www.pewaukeefire.com/stations.html sorry no pics really ask the photo shop guys to help with my project.

Sorry to interrupt, but your father was a pewaukee firefigher? He's probably been to my house before. My dad lit a stack of papers on fire with a magnifying glass . Oh yeah and the year before that we had a gas leak . And the year before that my mom had an allergic reaction.... Needless to say it's possible he's been here at least once.

But anyway I really like your idea. I hope it works out for you

Depending on the money you want to spend and the time you want to put into it ... having the barrel powder coated white and having the end milled to look like a nozzle and done in brass so that it looks like a fire hose might be pretty neat. Also you could have a vinyl sticker done of that patch and put on your hopper lid. Perhaps a little ladder down the length of rail.

I picked up some pieces of the canvas hose and going to cut them to length to cover the macro line. And that cross is going to be inlayed into the grip.

Your department has more cars than apparatus.
Amazing...you guys must not have many fires.

I work on a small career department in NW Ohio. We have 36 full time guys. 5 Engines, 2 ladders, 3 ambulances, and 2 Rescue vehicles. We also have 2 reserve engines, and a reserve ambulance. 2 Chiefs cars and one of those is a Suburban that doubles as a ICS vehicle.

I like the idea of a Firefighter marker. If you need to know paint colors. Call the manufacturer. We have all Seagrave, the paint is Dupont and the numbers are on a placard on the drivers door. We use Scott SCBAs and the yellow bottle would look very nice on a marker.
You could always use diamond plate grips too. Might be uncomfortable but they would look good. Or if it was an EMag...diamond plate the battery box.

Pewaukee has just started up its full time 2 years ago and are still working out the kink's from it. Actually the funny thing that you say that cause we just had a garage fire yesterday. My friends neighbor's garage went up damaged one on and totaled his dad's dodge and their garage. But mainly doing accidents considering pewaukee is right outside Milwaukee next to a major freeway.

                        Powdercoating is your best bet...

I was going to make a USMC mag, but of course, money was an issue. I'd still like to do it though

For powder coating, email ken at kpcustoms.com

I think thats the right email, but anyway he does excellent powder coating jobs and his prices are very reasonable. Tell him I sent ya!

the SS body has to plated or powder coated, it will not anno. If you really want to get fancy, you could prolly get the body brass plated, like the nozzles and such.
