original RT on a Minimag body.

okay guys, what do i need to do, if i want to adapt an original RT rail and Valve to a standard body and grip frame? it seems the only thing would be opening up the rear frame mount screw hole to accept the gas thru banjo. any input??

It looks like that would be the only thing, open up the rear grip frame hole, any input??

It won't work. Original RT rail will bolt up to another body like say a minimag body but the RT valve has no were to mount. The Original RT valve is slimmer and slides to the original body and the Z pin rides into a groove on the body itself. If you went and tried to use another valve that would work with the new body there isn't a slot on the classic rail for the Z pin. To do a body swap your going to need a different rail, the body, the conversion spacer from banjo bolt to field strip screw and a valve. Or maybe some how mill the Classic rail for the Z pin, but your still going to need a New valve the body, the spacer, field strip screw. AGD has a program to do all of this Up grading if you so wish. Cheaper going to a RT PRO than to dink with this. I have a classic RT with red smear anodizing. I wanted to run cocker theaded barrels and didn't want to loose my anno so I got a barrel adaptor. Simple and effective.

As far as like an I frame ect. You can still order one from AGD for the Classic RT or yes inlarge one to except the banjo bolt.

Kind of pointless to attempt that IMO. Other than the obvious differences, the classic RT valve is a much smaller diameter than all of the other AGD valves, and might give you more trouble trying to make it work than you anticipate. (FYI)

I know 2 guys already who are asking me if I could retor-fit their classic RTs with Xvalves. (Which would probably be much easier - cut the body down, make a bushing for the rear field strip screw)
