    X-Mag CAD

Hey, i was wondering if anyone had a CAD file of an X-Mag body, latest version (not sure of the name) that they can post up. It would be cool if i could modify it a bit just for fun in Rhino too, but im not sure if thats possible. Any help is apperciate. Thanks.

I don't think anyone has a model of the body. The only way to obtain it would be to get the dimensions and build a model yourself. I don't think AGD ever supplied any sort of model for anyone to use.

AGD Europe owns the rights to the Xmag body, so AGD couldnt give that out even if they wanted to.

I am a Certified SolidWorks Professional and I have modeled every part of my X-Mag's Valve, including the bolt, all the O-rings in SolidWorks 2006. I have also done the warp breech and the non C&C body. I spent a whole week over my Christmas vacation measuring the bolt with my digital caliper and modeling it all, but it does really look great.
The body and warp breech I did for another college project, my FEA class. My plans are to finish modeling every part and also to make an animation of the valve. I want to show why it leaks for different reasons and highlight the parts that may need to be replaced.

I have already modeled every part of my PMI STS Piranha and animated it for a design project. I designed an antichop flush cocking bolt for my senior design class. I basicly combined Spyder's ACS and PMI's flush cocking bolt. with a little of my own creativity.

I also designed an antichop bolt for the Tippmann 98 custom but it required more resources than I wanted to put into it. The Prototype that I built did work however.

We need to find a CnC lathe that we can hook directly up to Lorncashe.

I know it's been a while since I posted in this thread but I am finally going to get my CAD computer back up and running. It has been down for a while now while I was trying to figure out what was wring. Wound up being that the fan on the video Card wasn't working. I figured this out this past weekend and I have ordered a new graphics card. Once I get it I will post a few screen shots of what I got. Should be in the next week or so.

I could have sworn I posted these before... I actually have the whole non CnC'd X-Mag Modeled in SolidWorks. I showed a few of the guys at tunaball.

These Pics are a bit older... I have added the Dump Chamber and the rear Springs.

Get me some dimensioned prints and I can get just about anything made you want.

Although the model looks good for an individual part it's been difficult to measure hole placement so the parts themselves are correct to the best of my ability but how they fit together will take a good ammount of physical itteration. Which is actually how AGD did it too. I've heard from people that the official CAD documents from AGD aren't even correct but that they've been marked up and the only real version in a physical print that's been marked up. It may be worse than that the real versions may only exist in CnC code in a machine somewhere and not even on paper anywhere. Needless to say even if you wanted to work on your own designs based off my models it would take some work to make sure the the parts lined up properly.

As a machinist i can totally agree with this. Sometimes the actual product is deliberatly milled differently compared to the original cad data, just so parts will fit. And yes, (CAD) drawings do not always get updated, or revision numbers arent updated. I've seen examples of drawings of existing workpieces that suddenly had extra holes, without any notification of revision number on the drawing stating that a update has been made. Also drawings with tolerances on parts that need to fit on other parts, and comparing both drawings, the tolerances cancel eatchother out so the part wont fit.

The only way to truely replicate all the dimensions of a Xmag body would be digitizing a existing body with a 3D measuring machine.
